Forums - Nintendo - Dead or Alive 3DS pulled in Sweden for possible child pornography

Seriously Sweden, what the fuck? Most of the time you are a free and openminded place, but once in a while you snap and do something incredible stupid. I grew up with Astrid Lindgren movies where underage kids happily showed their genitals for everyone to see, and I can see why that needed to go.

But this...this is terrible! If Dead or Alive is too much then bye-bye Soul Calibur. >_> I hope to the Devil that Peach is atleast 18 otherwise we might as well say good bye to Smash Bros. as well.

and why would anyone think about childpornography in Sweden when they have swedish women?

I really try to avoid such controversial topics because some comments just make me cringe.

To the poster (whoever, I forget) who said people are allowed to enjoy their underage sex fantasies.

Exactly, keep it in your mind. If it comes out in any form or shape (be it anime porn or games) I find it perverted.

And that's my personal opinion on the matter as I get sickened when people try to defend this shit.

Ahh, opinion is all well and good, but should that be enacted legally? If other people find other harmless fetishes repugnant (and yes, when utilized fictionally this is a functionally harmless fetish), should we legislate against them? Or what then about foul music that encourages poor lifestyle choices or pointlessly stupid TV shows? When we remove immediate personal harm from the equation, the only fair thing to do is make all forms of expression legal.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Game banned for child pornography despite not containing children (aformentioned girls are mature enough imo) or pornography (maybe you can photograph their tits, but can you make 'em naked? Bleh). In Sweden.

Big surprise.

At this point, it seems that its better to not mention game charcter's age just to be on safe side (or just lie about it like many companies do).

Opinion is like the annoying stepmother. Everyone has one.

I think its crazy the human body has become so offensive that to depict a 17 year old in a thong could be illegal.

I actually have this theory that a lot of the perversions people wind up with as adults come from the fact that everyone was wearing cloths while they were growing up.

Three of the girls in it are minors, since they are not 18. It is also not Sweden that banned the game, but rather the distributors. Sweden is actually very liberal with sexuality, but I do think that most of the world agrees that exploitation of minors is wrong, and that even fantastical exploitation is not appropriate. The reason why the world draws the line at 18 and not 16, is that while at 16 most people are mature enough to handle themselves, there are still a lot who are essentially still children; by 18 this is no longer true, most are mature enough.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

If they sold We Dare in Sweden...
