Are you serious right now?  I mean do you honestly buy into every single line of marketing that comes out of Sony and its 1st party studios?  I mean honestly I don't understand why you are so committed to Sony Defence its not like your on their payroll.

Uncharted 3 will look beautfiul in 3D and will probably be the most impressive looking console game released so far, yes that is indeed a fact.

But its also a FACT that it is nowhere near what the PC can do in terms of 3D rendering and graphics.  The PS3 just simply isn't anywhere near powerful enough.

What Naughty Dog did for you doubt them? That's my point.

Until you prove them wrong... that's not marketing or I defending the Sony side of the force.

The PS3 hardware is not capable of producing full 1080p in each eye running at a constant 60fps with high level graphics.

There I just proved them wrong.

Naughty Dog didn't even claim that...

You didn't prove anybody wrong, stop putting words in other people's mouths.

When did I ever claim that they did say that?

I'm arguing with Ethomaz who apparently claims that Uncharted 3 will do to 3D what no other game so far has, and directly stated to someone else that he feels that Uncharted can compete with what the PC can do in terms of impressive 3D.

I'm simply telling him he's wrong.  That is all.  But of course instead of a rational well thought out post your pic of a monkey facepalming works much better.....

Yeah, Uncharted is going to be awesome... wait wth this is a MS discussion I would have never figured that out

Sorry I took to the off topic.

My point is both consoles could do 3D perfectly fine ... and the technology is very welcome and not garbage like some recent games have shown... and I cited the arrival of Uncharted 3 like exemple.

You said you proved Naughty Dog wrong, and last time I checked, Naughty Dog didn't claim that Uncharted 3 would run in 1080p, 60fps, 3D.

Not even Ethomaz claimed that.

And even if you did direct that "I proved them wrong" comment at Ethomaz then 1080p and 60fps is not needed to make a great 3D game, it's all about the depth the developer can create. For some games it works, for others is doesn't.

The argument isn't about how powerful the hardware is, it's about what the developer can do with that hardware.

And I used the monkey picture to make my comment a bit more lighthearted, so maybe you would be a little less antagonising, it clearly didn't work though.

I'll leave it at that, I have faith in Naughty Dog and you don't need an expensive PC to produce some of the best 3D effects.

I have faith in Naughty Dog as well, Uncharted 3 WILL BE the most impressive 3d game ever released on console undoubtedly.

But my patience lately with Ethmaz is wearing thin.  I apologize for jumping the gun and starting an argument but I'm so sick of every single thread I go into seeing him just non stop talk about Sony and its excusives.  This is a thread about 360 3D and what's the first thing he brings up?  Uncharted.  Every single thread he talks about PS3 undertracked, PS3 exlusives being the greatest things since sliced bread, PS3 this and that, even when the thread has nothing to do with that.

Again I apologize to everyone and I shouldn't have started an argument and gotten off topic.  Either way more 3D support on 360 is great news for those who enjoy 3D, now hopefully the actual 3DTV costs will go down;

Before ethomaz takes the 3D hype to new heights, I have to ground the current state of technology for what it is...

First of all, HDMi 1.4 standard, PS3 (360 if this is true) and all of the "hdmi 1.4" TVs and shutter glasses are a complete cash grab by the companies involved.

These TVs for one are seriously inferior when it comes to displaying 3D compared to technology available 2-3 years ago. Image crosstalk, ghosting and lack of 1080p per eye @ 60 frames per second is criminal considering that my LED DLP and a 22 inch 120 hz monitor can do it. Its not jsut Ps360 that can't do 1080p 3D(720p3D is even a strech)...the TVs themselves can't do it. They can only display 1080p @24 frames per eye which is useless for anything but bluray. Until they allow for true 120hz input and put some faster HDMI chips in to these TV's, no one serious about 3d should buy a 3D TV. You are buying obsolete tech...

I can post dozen threads over at IZ3D and Nvidia 3D vision forums where users are literally calling the new 3D TV's garbage and complete waste of money.

Secondly, console 3D so far has been underwhelming to say the least. PC 3D users are used to a slew of 3d options such as adjusting depth and convergence. On the console the 3d depth is locked and unadjustable. Naughty Dog can make Uncharted 3 3D ready from the get go, but if they don't let users adjust 3d depth, the experience will suck for some. The game can not determine automatically what levels of 3d a user is cofortable with.

Lastly, this one is for ethomaz. Here is a list of Pc games designed from the "ground up"for 3D effects in mind using 3D vision.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2
Batman: Arkham Asylum
Dead Rising 2
Mafia II
Metro 2033: The Last Refuge
Resident Evil 5
Supersonic Sled Demo
Trine
Civilization V****
Just Cause 2
Medal of Honor (2010) Multi-Player
NVIDIA Demo Endless City
Stone Giant
Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X. 2

With 100s more supported and working very well.

All of these games will easily blow uncharted 3 when it comes to 3D image quality and effects. (but not gameplay)

How are they going to do that without at least some console upgrades? They'd probably need at minimum HDMI 1.4. However that really isn't impressive unless they intend to upstage Nintendo by releasing a more powerful micro-generational Xbox 360 +?

Tease.

i dont understand.  what is the difference between this and the 3d that the 360 already does?

I'm still on the fence about going back to 3D, especially after reading the avs forum. I do all my gaming on a projector. Watching through LCD shutter glasses takes the brightness way down and diminishes the color. Sure you can compensate by adjusting the saturation and getting a more powerful lamp, but that causes more ambient light in the room which crushes your black level. (light falling back on the screen)

It was pretty impressive when I first got nvidea shutter glasses in '98 and played around with them on a CRT projector and a 72 inch screen. But only after 2 months and a couple of games I grew bored with it and went back to the superior picture quality of 2D without glasses in between. Nothing has convinced me so far that it will be a lot better this time around.
