controller looks awful, and looks like it feels awful to hold it as well
kinda too flat!?
don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^
I don't understand what's going on with Cafe' yet. And if whats shown in the OP really is representative of its main controller then Ninty has a lot of explaining to do.
A secondary screen on the controller for things like maps and inventory makes a lot of sense but its not enough to make the math come out right. A prominent secondary screen as shown in the OP is going to be cumbersome if over used, and a poor value otherwise.
It don't add up, E3 can't get here soon enough.
I do think a screen on the controller is possible- Nintendo has tried it before, but not seen any real success due to the need for a portable system per player, AND the link cables. But it won't be the main focus; I think the IGN mockup is more likely than the OP. But I don't really see either as good options, as motion is too hard to do with either of them. The motion, especially for backwards-compatibility with the Wii, will be the toughest part.

i wouldn't mind if the screen is optional, not sticking out like a sore thumb like that.
unlike most people, i think its a great idea, imagine playing pokemon with this, all your pokemons are saved on your cup (controller) and you can play on any Cafe (console) -lolmetaphors- and challenge others without going online or sending save files and all that stuff.

with today's smartphone, they all use motion and gyros , albiet different from the way the wiimote works, but i'm sure they'll figure out a way to make it a classic controller with a screen AND a wii mote like controller, but the thing i'm wondering is, how much would one controller cost.

Personally I don't think the new Cafe screen-controller will be used to replicate Wii motion. Instead, I think you'll have to use your Wii remotes for backward compatibility on Cafe, just like you needed your Gamecube controllers for BC on the Wii.
I believe the contoller/screen is their new idea, with motion/pointer being supported with a separate controller.
