Forums - Sales - EMEAA Up!

Summer lull approaching and numbers are already very low across the board, that does not bode very well at all. 3DS seems to be headed for a tough life.

Don't systems with looming price cuts usually have terrible numbers on the eve of said price cut?

if the price-cut is known about in advance .. yes.   wii should have a good bounce in next weeks numbers but it won't stop anyone from doming the wii this week.

More than Wii it is Nintendo being doomed, with three consoles selling average. But no one is counting that actually the only manifacturer capable of selling 3 consoles simoltanously was Sony and that DS&3DS numbers look way better than we think. Wii is selling badly, but the price cut should push it to over 100k weekly for the year. Japan should show how a new wave of games for 3DS will impact its sales.

Why people think price cut will help Wii sales? It isn't a matter of price anymore. The novelty is really over. And with the announcment of Project Cafe Wii will be surely dead.

Because every price cut helped the sales of a console just like every successor announcement damaged it? Sure, Wii 2 should be taken into consideration, but I doubt the people interested in Wii 2 are the same interested in Wii, even more than the DS/3DS difference.

CURRENTLY PLAYING: Xenoblade (Wii), Super mario 3D land (3DS), Guild Wars (PC)

And perhaps everyone (casual players) that wanted a Will already have it. Hardcore gamers will hardly buy one from now on.

yeah, the people looking to buy a wii right now are not the ones who will be buying project cafe right away - they are last generation buyers

This strict categories don't work that way, and we can say this of everything, the reason of the price cut is not to sell to people who wanted Wii but to create a desire into those who were not thinking to buy one. Maybe you never heard of the, as you call them, "hardcore gamers" saying "when the Wii drops at 100$ I'll buy it fro games like Monster Hunter 3 or Zelda". Well these are the people Nintendo is targeting at, otherwise they would increase the price to make more money if the buyers don't change :P

Xbox 360 is most impressive with the small YOY decline, phenomenol stuff for the year its in.

In terms of sales volume itself yeah it doesn't look like its doing too well, but thats because thats always how its done in EMEAA.

PS3 is doing very well, leading the market by a LONG way, this shows us where the public mindshare lies ATM, but in YOY terms yeah its looks meh....but its price is still relatively high. A price cut will help it a lot.

Wii...as bad as can be expected before the imminent price cut

3DS...abysmal

PSP....would call it terrible but in the utter shock of it outselling 3DS I'd call it "ok" lolol

I disagree. The slim released less than a year ago and then there was kinect and some price changes. The PS3 looks the most impressive to me considering that PSN was down that week and it had slim/pricecut in 2009.

Only siths understand the meaning of my words.

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

Been expecting a price cut for PS3 and Xbox for a while, but I been starting to wonder if the reason they are not happening is because any consumer jumping on board now is of little value to Sony and Microsoft. I mean if you haven't bothered buying a console before now this generation, then how many games are they likely to sell you? (very few would be my guess). And thus neither company is willing to cut their profit/make a loss on any consoles sold at this point.

Not considering YoY drop but just short term situation:

Very good PS3. Very good XB360 too, second, with the once almighty DS coming 3rd in a testicular pie with it.

Nintendo is in an excellent shape!                                            ...NOT!
