Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo: 'Plenty more surprises' coming for Wii

BTW, we can at least be sure of a Just Dance 3, and that's still going to be damn good in my book.

And I'm not sure if the Wii is just getting Modern Warfare 2, or if they are cramming 2 and 3 in the same year, but it's still more than other developers are giving.

Yeah, those aren't surprising, but considering other developers have turned away from sure things on the Wii (including seemingly Nintendo), these guys are doing it right.

Haven't nintendo implied, in various articles recently they would be doing something to celebrate Zelda's anniversary this year (like they did with mario and that stupid port of mario allstars last year)? I guess this could mean some kind of zelda collection (?) tb announced at e3 though I hope not! OOT remake and SS will be enough for me!

That's what deluded people have been saying since 2008. Wait for E3, then when nothing comes at E3, they say "wait for E3 next year before attacking Nintendo!!11!". I mean, time to stop using that excuse. Next thing you know people will be saying wait for E3 2012 and let's see if Nintendo dropped the ball on the Wii or not (They clearly did already)

I'm having serious flashbacks to 2008 here in terms of the stuff you're saying.

Did you miss last year's E3 conference or what? Did they not show a lot of really neat games that came out last year and were tons of fun?

Partially, you are correct, but my comment was mostly aimed at the people who tell you to wait for E3 for something specific that they know will most likely won't happen. Other than that, my pessimistic side starts to grow as E3 draws near.

Hard to believe it anymore...  :(

I'll tell you one thing: anybody complaining about the lack of releases has no excuse not to invest in some Nintendo points. There are just loads of must-have releases both on WiiWare and VC lately! Off the top of my head:

  • MDK2 for WiiWare - got it myself and it is glorious 3rd person, laugh-out-loud hilarious, bullet-pumping action at 60 freakin frames per second!
  • Mega Man X for VC
  • Chrono Trigger   - available now in US and this Friday in EU
  • FAST - a racing game from the wizards at Shinen' that is one part Wipeout, one part Ikaruga! (coming May 27th)
  • Final Fantasy 6 - anybody who hasn't played this should download at once. In most circles it's tied with Chrono Trigger as best JRPG ever made!
  • MotoHeroz - a physics based racer/platformer for up to 4 players, from the guys who made Trials HD, so you know it's gonna rock! (coming soon)

As far a I'm concerned every one of these is a must-have game for Wii owners, and all of them are either available now or releasing in the coming weeks. I know I will personally be getting all of them, and we all know It'd be great if they got some support in the sales department.

Still reading this post!? Then STOP! Get off your ass and go download these games! Lets break the stereotype about WiiWare being a place where no hits are born!

Until you've played it, every game is a system seller!

^^^ i see what your doing and i love the enthusiam but lets keep it real half those games are not worth a crap on WiiWare.  Chrono Trigger has been rereleased twice already, if you are that big of a fan you should have either gotten it on PS1 or DS, no excuse. Mega Man x IMHO i would just pay the extra money and get the collection, but thats just me. FF6 is another game that has been rerealesed multiply times so you should already own that. Got MDK 2, FAST looks like a poor man's Wipeout. MotoHeroez sounds good. The reason why people say WiiWare has not hits is because, well it has little hits, alot of gamers are multiplat owners and compared to PSN & XBL libraries, WiiWare aint crap, im sorry to say but thats just it. Why invest in WiiWare points when i could invest in the others and they have more consistent releases and better games???

OT i'll believe it when i see it. Xenoblade, Last Story, P's Tower, Vitality Sensor, those arent surprises, we already know about them a surprise would be, oh i dont know makeing a freaking real Mario Tennis or Golf, or even better how abotu localzing Fatal Frame, they let those weak ass shovelware titles made by some c grade devs, but not the actual good horror series??? When it was on PS2 they got localized.

"if you are that big of a fan you should have either gotten it on PS1 or DS, no excuse"

That's not taking into account some alterations that some fans are not pleased with, like shoehorning the game into fitting with Chrono Cross, which some find should have been fixed by itself first.

"Mega Man x IMHO i would just pay the extra money and get the collection, but thats just me"

Well I would agree, but to play it on the Wii, you ned the GC version, and doesn't that swap the jump and fire buttons like the original Mega Man collection?

"FF6 is another game that has been rerealesed multiply times so you should already own that"

Except some might find the load times for the PS1 version a problem, and not like the changes on the GBA version (and the SNES being a much older system isn't always the best bet).

"Got MDK 2, FAST looks like a poor man's Wipeout"

Wipeout? As in the high speed racing game when MDK2 is an action shooter?

"The reason why people say WiiWare has not hits is because, well it has little hits, alot of gamers are multiplat owners and compared to PSN & XBL libraries, WiiWare aint crap, im sorry to say but thats just it."

That's just an opinion, as many really like a lot of the games on VC even over the other systems' games, and apologizing for an opinion does not make it somehow valid.

"Why invest in WiiWare points when i could invest in the others and they have more consistent releases and better games???"

First part true (won't get into the outage issue as I hope it's solved soon), second part is still an opinion presented as a fact. Unless you mean your own feelings, except you're replying to someone who isn't directing those comments at you alone.

"OT i'll believe it when i see it."

That I agree with. We'll have to wait for their conference at E3 to see if there is still more for the Wii, or if Nintendo wants it to just flounder after a couple more major games (which would be stupid since it would mean lost audience for the year until the next system).
