I am so ready for a new microsoft system so i can tell my friends that didnt want to believe the wii 2 annoucement and it came true and they dont believe microsoft wll do it for their new system so you better make that annoucement microsoft cuz i want to shut them up lol

Well, that makes sense. Microsoft has been profitable for quite some time now so there's no reason to assume a new console would be a money sink.

Also did anyone really expect a 10 year life cicle for any console? Neither Microsoft nor Sony will give Nintendo a 2-3 year headstart. I could see a PS4 release later (like late 2013) since Sony still needs some time to recover enough of the PS3 losses and the NGP release in 2011/2012 will keep them busy.

E3 could get even more interesting now (and Nintendo will be under quite some pressure now haha )

how microsoft prolly knows their xbox is getting old it is the 6th year and if they launch next year it be year 7 so i think that a right time

I originally thought the 360's successor would launch in 2012, but Kinect made me believe that would be put off by at least a year, with the lack of 360 exclusives for next year, I can see internal studios already moving over to create first gen games for launch window alreeady

true i think if the  nintendo leaks didnt happen and nintendo not coming out and saying the cafe is real etc , i think at e3 nintendo wouldnt have pressure but looks like they might now woo

too early for an announcement of a thing that doesn't even have a prototype design or final hardware, if this "early stage" statement of the console is true.

eh, with actual xbox profits hidden inside a bigger division inside microsoft it is hard to say if they haven't already made back their money.  I've seen people take apart the earning reports before, and I think that they are really close to breaking even with the 360 or have already broke even and are making a profit.  

Not that it really matters if a system lost money in the past.  In the grand scheme of things with stocks, all that matters is if it is making a profit at the moment, and it is and has been.
