So a few weeks ago I was very active here on VGChartz, but right before the Cafe system was leaked my computer got a virus and died. I was unable to fix the computer and get it online till today, I know thats along time for a nerd but I had to find all my boot disks and installation information to re-instal my wireless adapter etc..

But coming back, as a Nintendo fan I am glad I was actually gone these last few weeks. I look at the mess that all these rumours and supposed leaks have made and am actually glad I wasn't here to speculate on them.

Seriously now the rumour the device will only have 8 gig of internal memory and everybody gets in a frenzy, the rumours about the power or lack their of....etc...etc...

I have noticed not just here on VGChartz but people all over the web actually critisizing Nintendo for making moves nobody knows are true. People critisizing the supposed price, power, hard drive.

People, these are all rumours. Even source information from developers shouldn't be considered accurate. Remember the Wii, developers got upgraded GameCube dev kits and had no freaking clue what was going on until Nintendo officially announced it.

I don't know if another thread was made about how silly and pointless speculating and judging Nintendo's moves when Nintendo hasn't even made the moves yet.

Seriously I'm glad my computer was dead, anyone else really sickened by all this rumour speculation? Commenting and speculating and judging a console that right now doesn't even officially exist. All we know is Nintendo will announce their next console at E3 this year, thats it as far as I know. Thats not new news I've known that since 2006.

So is anyone with me and seriously pissed at all the rumours and speculation?

You shouldn't have fixed your computer until E3.

Well, the Wii 2 has been leaked and Nintendo confirmed that and said that "there is no smoke without fire". You can't blame people for jumping on the rumors, when Nintendo isn't being remotely coy about it.

Nintendo confirmed their next generation system officially in 2006 when Miyamoto said it would feature full HD. Also Nintendo confirmed they were always working on new systems and have continued to mention new hardware ever since NES. Infact next gen information has been talked about officially by Miyamoto, Iwata and Sakamoto.

Nothing new has been announced, all we have are rumours. The only authentic peice of info I have heard is that developers have claimed to have dev kits. But as I said in the initial post when Wii launched Nintendo issued modified GameCube kits to the developers, infact the developers didn't even know how the controls would work until Nintendo unvieled it at E3.

You don't see people starting rumours about Nex-Box or PS4, I guess these rumours had to come out now since Nintendo is due to announce the console at E3, but honestly people are taking these rumours far to seriously.

I guess Galaki is sort of right to avoid all of the judgemental Nintendo bashing based on whacked out rumours I should put a bullet in my computer right now and just log back after E3. But that would be no fun I love VGChartz, but the rumour's and attacks on Nintendo based on these rumours is really annoying.

Also fans weren't this bad when 3DS got announced. Developers said they had Nintendo's next handheld and a few mock ups got leaked but nothing to this extent. This is just rediculous!

Well people these days take rumours as fact. Let them think and talk all they want. Who cares all will be revealed at E3 anyway.    

It's fine to have a discussion on what you think about something (like IF the internal memory is as they say), but to take it to heart as if it's the truth is a bit much, yes. It is a little annoying but just stay away from those things or shrug them away. E3 isn't too far away anyway!

I don't hold much importance in the rumours, personally. Like when there was rumours of the console, I took a wait and see approach.

My take on this is I don't mind the rumours, I actually enjoy reading them, but I totally agree that people making judgement calls based on the rumours is ridiculous/annoying. Whenevr I see a thread go that way I stop reading.

Which came after all the rumors, so it's perfectly natural to expect that the rumors have some merit I'd say.

I don't think the rumors themselves are what the OP is saying are stupid, but the people who instantly believe they are all 100% accurate and then start to make sales predictions and seconding guess Nintendo's philosophy and buisness model, and especially anyone who is already trying to use tiny rumors to start playing the DOOMZ game.

I agree totally. Rumors and discussion about what it may or may not have is what we do, but when people seriously start to take every tiny missplaced rumor, as 100% fact and go on the attack...that's some fox news shit right there.
