Thats hella impressive....but also to keep things grounded you have to remember that this gen is about twice as long as others have been.

I'd say in net it's about 50% longer. Wii is only going to last 6 years as Nintendo's lead console, which is pretty consistent with past lead consoles.

But it's not just the same annual sales across twice as many years.

That's a nice spot you've got there, but I agree that you're underestimating somewhat, but I suppose it shows that, even with the lower-bound of sales, it will still reach 500mil...

Yes, they gained momentum in their mid life, this should keep their sales curves high enough long enough. I wouldn't cut Wii's maximum, as it depends mostly on Ninty willing to support it long enough or not.

Very interesting and very probable prediction. I believe this year's software can sell twice as much as last gen's. I agree.

Wii wont break the 110M mark I doubt it, they may finish around 105M though, but I see pS3 defintly passing 100M and 360, about 88M to 95M.  500M for 1 gen is amazing though.

Wii should get 110M. It may get a boost after Cafe comes out, especially if Cafe is expensive and has no good games at launch (likely), and Wii is very cheap and has introduced a $20 line of games at the time.

Obviously the insane long tail of PS2 is not going to happen, but I think it will leg it out to 110M.
