Forums - Sony - Sony hit with second attack, loses 12,700 Credit Card Numbers

Some people on gaf are reporting that another 24.6 million user account data may have been stolen as well.

You have to wonder what else was stolen. This isn't over me thinks. "No evidence" is meaningless, they might as well shrug their shoulders.

Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.

only saving grace is that the data taken is 4yrs old even then this is still poor form.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

This was not a second attack, it was confirmed by sony.

Anyone thinks it could be an inside job? cause SOE had some heavy layoffs in March... some of them could have access to the servers... >_>

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

I dont have any problem with this nor lose sleep over this.. I always use either a pre-paid credit card or a PSN points card and so goes for Xbox live, I always use Microsoft Points for every purchase I make..

PSN cards don't work for SOE MMOs?

On topic: I don't think this would be half as bad as what the PSN hack could of been. Since all these were 2007 cards, most of them have to be expired ;_;

Sig thanks to Saber! :D

Credit Cards really aren't as big of a deal as the other stuff Sony lost... and like half of them were expired.

What's weird though was i thought SOE previously claimed they had lost nothing.

I don't think bank account numbers expire.

Found more info:

http://www.soe.com/securityupdate/pressrelease.vm

The personal information of the approximately 24.6 million SOE accounts that was illegally obtained, to the extent it had been provided to SOE, is as follows:

  • name
  • address
  • e-mail address
  • birthdate
  • gender
  • phone number
  • login name
  • hashed password.

In addition to the information above, the 10,700 direct debit records from accounts in Austria, Germany, Netherlands and Spain, include:

  • bank account number
  • customer name
  • account name
  • customer address.

Ugh, as I said in the other thread I'm through with Sony this gen if true.

Even with the joke of giving us 30 free days of PSNPlus as a sign of an apology, I was willing to let this blow over.  I was even heavily considering getting an NGP over the 3DS because it does look like a cool device and the 3DS is only meh.  Now though, if true, screw Sony.  There's no chance I'll buy the NGP, I'll buy no multiplats for the PS3, and I'll simply borrow any exclusive I want to play.

It's amazing how little they care for their customers.

good fucking riddance
