Has to be tongue-in-cheek. Eye candy can only take you so far after all, and Nintendo's franchises will only improve as much as their developers let them (the N64 parallel might work given the possibility that Nintendo's going to skip Metroid this generation, though)

The only Nintendo franchises that could do with HD are Zelda, Metroid and F-zero. Everything else it's about even wether the increased cost and development time makes it worth it. Obviously for a lot of games it is not.

Also, Lol at the idea that Nintendo will go back to the controller idea they had for the Wii, and rejected in favour of the Wiimote.

I think HD will be good for the die hard nintendo fans but i dont it will do as well as the wii has done sales wise. I think Nintendo needs to start making need ip's for there fans cause i dont think Mario and Zelda are gonna cut it next gen. If they want there console to compete agianst Sony and M$ Next gen there are gonna have to investing on new studios and franchises.

Also if Nintendo is learning anything from the 3DS they should know that they should not give a there next gen console a name that could make the mass consumer have second thoughts. The average person that looks at the 3DS just thinks of it as a DS with 3D. So if Nintendo makes a name like *WiiHD* or *Wii2* I dont think it will perform very well for the mass market.

Overall I think Nintendo next console could be big Only if it get's some good games at launch and if they get some 3rd party support. I also think they should consider getting a new disc format since both the Wii and Gamecube Disc space was both less than 9GB. I will also be wondering rather or not they will make there own speical online service...    :)

Well it would be interesting to see what nintendo will do with super mario. Will we see super mario galaxy in HD,will we see 3D mario for instance? 

I am the only person who doesn't really give a shit about graphics or resolution as long as they are above Dreamcast level?

I'm more excited about the games the cafe will have, rather than how those games look
