I think HD will be good for the die hard nintendo fans but i dont it will do as well as the wii has done sales wise. I think Nintendo needs to start making need ip's for there fans cause i dont think Mario and Zelda are gonna cut it next gen. If they want there console to compete agianst Sony and M$ Next gen there are gonna have to investing on new studios and franchises.
Also if Nintendo is learning anything from the 3DS they should know that they should not give a there next gen console a name that could make the mass consumer have second thoughts. The average person that looks at the 3DS just thinks of it as a DS with 3D. So if Nintendo makes a name like *WiiHD* or *Wii2* I dont think it will perform very well for the mass market.
Overall I think Nintendo next console could be big Only if it get's some good games at launch and if they get some 3rd party support. I also think they should consider getting a new disc format since both the Wii and Gamecube Disc space was both less than 9GB. I will also be wondering rather or not they will make there own speical online service... :)
