Hirai confirmed the number of exposed credit card numbers was about 10 million?

Yeah, but by the time they're unencrypted... you'd think people would get new ones.

Sounds like if you care it'd be worth changing your number.  Earlier it sounded like the CC numbers were in a different part of the system.

When I guess what they meant was, it was in the same part of the system, but don't feel there is reason to worry because of the encryption.

Playing word games with the PR is a bit weak.  If I had used my credit card info with sony i'd be angry.

No proof it was compromised and they totally had access to the data but we think the encryptions would hold....

are not the same in my book.

I'll buy a PSP Go tomorrow (sell-out at a big retailer) and I'm really curious to see if I'll be part of that program too. In the end I'll have a PSP Go but no games for several days. Giving away free content to existing users is great but what about those people who would be users by now but can't subscribe due to the PSN network being down?

I guess it depends on the encryption. I'm no expert on cryptography but I think a strongly encrpyted file probably wouldn't be practical to hack?

Afterall those insurance files released by Wikileaks no doubt contained all sorts of juicy information but I haven't heard of any attempt to actually get into them.

They're restoring service to Home? This is the ultimate slap in the face. Fuck Sony, I'm done with 'em.

I'm sure like most people here, I also have more than one PSN account for more than one region. I heard word that PSN the sequel is going to stop you from accessing accounts that aren't in the region you are in.

E.G
If I'm in Ukland, my NA accounts won't work.

Is this true?

I just realised something, the heads of Sony are handsome as fuck. Damn they look sleek and swanky in those suits and their hair is smooth as hell. It's like watching a Yakuza 3 cutscene.

share pics..

uhm... that's probably not made by real geeks - real geeks would know that "harakiri" is the slang word (and mostly used by westeners), while "seppuku" is the real word for the ritual suicide

someone stole those geek's IDs and posted in their stead ..  damn you Sony
