Forums - Sony - The unOfficial 'I don't care Sony was hacked' thread

I can't say that I don't care. But I will say that it didn't bother me that much, and I didn't have any credit card info on my PS3 anyway. Although I am looking forward to getting back on the PS Store, I don't really mind the break, as long as PSN is safer after all is said and done.

Besides it has been pretty nice outside here in Virginia, and its Spring break so it has helped me get out more. I'm proud of that haha and I've been preoccupied with other things such as Youth Group, going to King's Dominion(My local amusement park), and the beach. So I honestly haven't been affected by PSN going down, if anything it was a good thing for me.

*sigh*

there's not even 50 million ps3's sold in the whole damn world...... 23 billion????? how retarded are human beings,  really, how fucking..... seriously fucking retarded are people. Sony is gonna half to pay over 20 million people that don't exist......... this is mind blowing, and what's worse is that people are still talking in complete absolute about info being stole even though there has been no evidence of it but was mentioned at a simple precaution. All the analyst who came up with that shit should be fired for being retarded and everyone who took the shit seriously should slap themselves for believing something so VERY fucking retarded

I personally do not think PS3 is doomed.  As you mentioned, there are a lot of games coming this year and the years to come.  Certainly, some have lost their trust with Sony and will decide to invest more time and money in another console. However, some will still continue buying Sony products and what not.

And yahh, Sony will lose money from PSN being down and also from lawsuits and trying to fix the problem.  Its good to note that every computer system out there are prone to being hacked.   I have been reading the news and looking at alot of blogs, and it is  known for companies to not reveal such an intrusion to not recieve unwanted press.  Sony did what they thought was the best course of action.

Lets just hope everything will be up and running in not time, and that it will not happen again.

Remember, no security sysem is invincible. Even with updated security measures, it might happen again to Sony.

You seem to be forgetting the PSP also, people who sell their PS3's or give them away leading to new people making new accounts, also multiple accounts for multiple people in the same household.

Also whatever the hell Qrocity is.

I own a PS3 and I had an account with them.  But somehow I just don't care much about all of this.  And I'm tired of all the press its getting.  Its exactly why these people did this, because they wanted all this press and to make Sony look bad.

Also, all the games I play are single player so I don't really need the online aspect.  Except for Batman: Arkham Asylum or Marvel Pinball.

Six upcoming games you should look into:

Thank you, a thread not sponsored by 360 fanboys, hyperbole or complete bullshit.

This effects me very simply:

From the time that PSN is down until it is back up, PSN will be down until it is back up.

Beyond not being able to play Portal 2 online for a few days, I could care less.

I care, but not enough to get pissed or too worried.  I have already changed any passwords that were similar to the one on PSN (which I will change, too, once PSN is up again) and credit card companies are already on alert for any strange expenses on people's accounts that this concerns.  Also, Sony doesn't believe the CC info was stolen, but warned people just in case.  In the end, PSN will be back and better and despite the wishes of some fanatics, this will barely hurt Sony.  Within a month or two, this will mostly be forgotten by the mass public and the PS3 will still continue to be in higher demand than the other consoles.

And for those going with the 23-24 billion figure, I'll just qoute Seihyouken from the actual article.

"If any one actually went to the Ponemon Institute's website they'd find a nifty databreach cost calculator. Entering in the information we have been given by Sony regarding the security breach the Ponemon Institute estimates it will cost Sony less than $20 million."

Take from that what you will.
