Heres Destructoids take on the matter....

Meanwhile, the more idiotic Sony fans on Twitter and Facebook are defending the company, acting like this situation has been -- in any way -- acceptable.

People need to sit back and ask themselves, "If it was another company , how would you feel"

To me, no matter What Company takes my info and doesn't protect it, (ESPECIALLY after you have been targeted by a group) I lose trust.

Wonder what the stocks will look like in a couple hours....

It's confusing... I can't seem to seperate Sony faithfuls with Square Enix Emo's....

I am struggling with the level of incompentency that Sony appear to be showing at the moment. I am pretty sure it will transpire that they have known about security issues since the network went down. The investigations into this is gonna rumble on and on and I can see a number of countries hitting them hard over this. This will make the wi-fi sniffing Google car seem inconsequential and that was pretty shocking in its own way.

If the intruders used some security hole due to bugs, then it's annoying, but it happens, but if the current holes are still totally or in part due to the unforgivable security design flaw of assuming client security, then Sony must stop faffing around already and redesign its network security. THE CLIENT (particularly if remote) MUST NEVER BE ASSUMED AS SECURE for what concerns the servers' and network's security. It's a rule taught even in the most basic university courses about computer networks.

just ring your banks and ask for new cards it shouldnt cost you anything, ive had my CC details stolen 3 times in the last 5 years, and altho the first time it was quite scary and worrying, the speed and efficency that my bank dealt with it each time im just not that bothered anymore, they refunded all fraudulent claims immediatley and sent me out new cards within 3 days. These were not small claims either the last time they charged over £1000 to the apple store. And as i say its never cost me a penny.

You may think i must be incredibly lax with my credit card but i never let it leave my site in restaraunts or stores and i never use it in cash machines, which makes me believe the details must of been stolen each time from internet retailers and i only really shop at big brand electronic and game stores online. Which has lead me to believe that lots of online stores are probably compromised and the providers dont even know it, or at least never inform me!

The point is a good number of people haven't received emails so they don't know to talked to their credit card companies or even monitor their credit cards because Sony has not contacted them.  As of typing this post, I still haven't received an email.

I'm not angry at their incompetence for allowing the breach to happen, I'm angry at the moment they aren't telling their customers about it.

Have you checked your spam folders? If the same email gets sent en masse, servers might flag that email as spam. The email might contain a lot of verbiage that would be marked for spam as well.

Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.

Yup, lots of spawm, no email from Sony (though I do have an SoE email but that's for something else).
