Forums - Sony - What people blaming Geohotz and the "hackers" seem to be missing...

WTF people?!? How can ANYONE be defending Sony on this. THEY should have prepared for the worst case scenario but they didn't. This is a COMPLETE FUCKUP on their part.

So to sum it up:

It IS Sony's fault (as well as the jackass who hacked them)

This IS serious.

And there is NO debating those facts.

And I don't wanna hear any bullshit anologies.

So you can make unhackable free service without going bankrupt? And how is this serious, so more spam and phising scams annoy people oh wow it's the end of the world

Are we sure it's the PS3.  What i've read it suggested that they ended up taking control of a System Administrators PC.

Seems better to wait for the full report from Sony, the FBI or the security agency they hired before figuring out HOW they botched it.

Whoops that revision of the post sounded much more sure of itself than I intended. I meant to say the PS3 is the most likely source. I have a couple of problems with the assumption so I wouldn't be stunned to find out it was something else. I will go edit the post now. You are right that its better to wait before assigning definitive blame. I was just trying to show the logic behind people who jumped to the assumption that the PS3 was the cause.

Everyone was reporting about RROD long after it happened... ok, and what was the point of showing the hardest of the hardcore Microsoft people thinking about leaving PS3?

Then you'll have no problem finding a much harsher article from Yahoo with around the same date?  Right.

Lets be honest here, the one with an agenda here isn't me... and it's a pretty crappy agenda, because if your going to bother to have one, it may as well be one that benefits you in some way.  Trying so hard to go out of your way to have Sony's back has literally zero benefit.

It happened on launch day and that one was way after launch date, and yes vast majority of articles would be harsher, I made a mistake today, I missed one word in Sony's statement but you've made like 5 since I started talking to you it's pretty pathetic

What happened on launch day?   I don't think you seem to quite comprhend my point which was... that article, happened LONG after RROD happened, after RROD was basically considered "solved" by the media.  MSNBC, was reopening those wounds and saying "Hey it's still a huge problem, look at this... and by the way Microsoft has a history of releasing game consoles that are broken at launch."

Though, at least I have that confirmation that the reason you stopped argueing points is because you realized you were wrong, and just didn't want to admit it.

Just about 10 more posts and you'll be ready to admit you were wrong about this.

One point was wrong, rest are fine, and there are tons of articles saying it and RROD happend on launch day, honestly how have you survived, I think darwin was wrong about his theory of evolution

Where did I say RROD didn't happen on launch day?  I'm going to bold the parts of my post you apparently didn't read... which is basically the whole thing.

You somehow twisted yourself into argueing my point for me at this point.

As for the snippy Darwin comments... that kinda shows a lack of understanding about natual biology and mankind.  Man transcended evolution a long time ago, ever since we developed tools that adapted the enviorment to us.

How can you not be familiar with darwins theory, honestly how many times must you fail before you realize just how dumb you are, and I should of worded it simply, you asked what happened on launch day I answered, why is that so hard for you?

I can make a free service that doesn't wait a week to tell people someone stole enough personal data to steal the identity of millions of people. The biggest issue is not that they were hacked. Not even remotely. Sony's response is the problem.

Ah, i get you now.    That makes total sense as a hypotehtical... and if is the case.... oooh boy.  That's just worse then the "Usual corporate neglect" to cut costs you'd come to expect from any company.

He isn't the one who should brush up on darwin's theory. He actually makes a very good point about it while trying to ignore the implied insult of the post he was responding to.

Yeah I get that, but there is a real possibility they were unaware of just how bad it was up to the point they told us, and didn't even think the hacker got into personal info

A)  Your entire downplaying of that artice appears to be "It happened at launch".

The "it happened at launch" you are referring to... is RROD.

So.... uh.  What exactly was your point.

B)  Human kind has surpassed the need for having to adapt to nature.  Therefore current human evolution isn't based on "survival of the fittist" mindset in which you were implying.

Not that it really would of been relevent anyway... since physical attributes were deemed more important then mental ones before then.  Or so it was theorized.

It's actually a pretty easy concept to understand.

Which is a not a good sign in the first place.

Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.
