Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo Investor Meeting - First Interesting details

According to David Gibson (I think he is a video game analyst) who attended the meeting, several new interesting tidbits were mentioned:

  • Vitality sensor still in development but challenge is its easy to make it work for 80% of people but very difficult for 99%
  • Still pushing wii, will be releasing one title every month to push its performance, wii play motion new title
  • 3ds- need to provide incentive to use streetpass and system updates- will offer free classic games, eshop and internet

you can read the complete list, as well as further discussion, on his Twitter page.

Until you've played it, every game is a system seller!

They'll be ~tripling their output?

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

lets put it this way: in Japan they released The Last Story in January. February March and April where dedicated to Black & White and the 3DS so no Wii games (correct me if I'm wrong on that). May has Pandora's Tower, June has Wii Play Motion.

That leaves July-December (I'm assuming after that support will stop) during which time we know they will release Rhythm Tengoku, Kirby, Pokemon and Zelda. That means probably two big games we haven't heard of yet will be announced at E3.

good, hope all of this is true.

andriasang offers some clarification:

  • Kid Icarus will be released in Summer or beyond
  • A 3D Classics version of Excite Bike will be distributed as a free download with the 3DS' late May firmware update.
  • The 3DS Virtual Console will start off with Game Boy and Game Boy Color. Following this, Nintendo would like to look into the possibility for other platforms.
  • Wii's Vitality Sensor peripheral is still under development.
  • The Wii version of rhythm game Rhythm Heaven makes use of button controls.
  • Nintendo will be releasing one Wii title a month starting in May. The schedule is: Pandora's Tower (May), 007 Golden Eye (June), Wiimote Plus Variety (July), and Rhythm Heaven (summer). Zelda Skyward Sword, Kirby and Just Dance 2 are all due in calendar 2011 too.

Bleh!! Once again I am let down by my expectations as a Wii owner...

Funny they are still working with the Vitality Sensor, wonder why they showed it if it wasn't ready.  Will it be included in Café or be used as means to extend the Wii's life?

PS: Pushing Wii with titles... Nintendo, get Trauma out in Europe!

You say tomato, I say tomato

"¡Viva la Ñ!"

I hope NoE follows with the 1 game a month.  Stuff like Excitebots and Trauma Team would make easy releases for otherwise dull  months.

Yay for free Excitebike!
