I actually agree with his analysis that Nintendo's new system could be looked at as an in between system like the Dreamcast was and might have a negative effect on sales since people will just wait for the "better" system. I might have to have my temperature taken.
I don't think that it will have the low sales that the Dreamcast did though because the Wii has been much, much, much, much, much, much, much more sucessful than the Saturn ever dreamed of being.

Well yes but Nintendo is in a situation of doomed to do, doomed to not do it.
If they make Wii 2 slightly more powerfull than PS3/X360 they will receive stream of ports from those platforms which will work for a year or two then when PS4/X720 is released they will be back to the situation where Wii is currently - a generation behind in power which will mean 3rd parties will ignore them like they did this gen.
If they make Wii 2 powerfull enough for 1080p gaming it will be problem for third parties to support it with games - development cost will raise and userbase will be small so noone will do games that push Wii 2 to the maximum and it will finish will slightly better versions of PS3/X360 multiplats. And then when PS4/X720 arrive two years later they will be more powerfull (as they use razor model of sales and will have benefit of 2 years of technology advancement and cost reductions) so the Wii will start getting worst versions of multiplat titles.
Also if innovation is indeed additional screen on gamepad it will share the fate of sisaxis in multiplatform titles as noone will bother implementing it correctly in the Wii2 version.
