Hello Uncharted 3.

I don't know about it selling 4 million its first week but 3.5 million seems pretty likely at this point. Even ioi thinks its possible that this game will have an opening like Halo Reach.
So far I've heard nothing but positive things about the beta (I played it too and actually thought it was pretty damn fun)
Needless to say this game will be huge and a 3-3.5 million FW/8-9 million LT is looking pretty doable.

I don't know. 9m seems pretty high for Gears. I say it will sell 7.5 - 8.5m.
However I've been wrong plenty of times. Three (out of three) of my predictions this year were absolute failures.

Well 9 million is actually the highest i think Gears 3 could possibly get to lifetime unless 1: its bundled a lot or 2: pre-orders continue to smash Halo Reach's.

Uncharted 3 is 28 weeks out and is preforming better than the previous 2 games.
inFAMOUS 2 is the direct sequel to a game that didn't get that much hype, but slowly muscled it's way up the numbers over time based on strong word of mouth.
With about 12 to 15 weeks till release Sony will ramp up the advertising of Uncharted 3. This will be the best selling game of the franchise so far. 6 million LTD.

I don't understand why if a game has a big opening and then sells 4mil after its initial, its "legs" are considered worse than a game with a shitty opening that goes on to sell 1-3mil more after its initial weeks. "Legs" are simply how much a game sells after its initial week, or initial month, or longer, and sony exclusives still have nothing on halo 3's, halo reach's, and gears of war 1's legs, though with time gt5's "legs" will eventually pass gears 1. Still thats only 1 game.
Anyway great to see uncharted 3, and elder scrolls chart. Brink is also doing very well. I hope it ends up being a good game, because I am very interested in it from what I've read. Infamous 2 is not doing so well. Ofc its going to beat infamous's first week sales. It has built up a fanbase and the first game wasn't hyped at all. I really hope it sells well though because its my favorite sony exclusive ip this gen.
As for gears of war 3, its hard to assume much these preorders. I think it has next to no chance of opening higher than halo reach in America because gears 2 was an esablished franchise so its hard to believe gears 3's first week will magically be 2.5times as high as the second one's, though monster hunter 3 was able to do that in Japan so I guess it is possible. While its obvious the beta is greatly helping the preorders, they seem ridiculously high regardless. The comment that its because xbox 360 has no exclusives this year makes no sense, because if even half of the multiplatform games of 2011 live up to their hype, this will be the best year ever for multiplatforms. When people preorder a multiplatform, they don't think "O crap this isn't exclusive so it doesn't count. I need to preorder an exclusive." Anyway obviously amazing preorders but I feel like they are a bit deceiving of what the game will actually sell.
Wow..Uncharted 2 didn't appear in the charts until 6 weeks to launch?!?
Anyway, great seeing UC3 charting so early, what do you guys think its first week sales will be?

inFAMOUS 2 is looking terrible, but it would be nice to see it pick up considerably. |
How is inFamous looking terrible. It's currently pacing similar to Killzone 3.
| Killzone 3 | PS3 | 7 | 3,919 | 63,050 |
| inFamous 2 | PS3 | 7 | 6,383 | 61,271 |
So if inFamous 2 follows Killzone 3's pace then it'll sell around 2.5 - 3.0m which is pretty good. And then you have the fact that inFamous won't have to deal with 4 - 5 action games releasing in the following weeks, like Killzone had to do with Homefront, Crysis, Bulletstorm, etc.
If inFamous has good reviews, then it'll probably open up bigger than Killzone 3. Look how Uncharted 2 JUMPED in preoders because of its reviews. Also, look how it's outpacing Uncharted 2:
| Uncharted 2: Among Thieves | PS3 | 6 | 4,451 | 40,408 |
I don't think we can say it's doing terrible just yet.
1st week in America will be 800k - 900k
1st week WW will be 1.2m - 1.5m
