Forums - Nintendo - 3DS - Left-Ganded Friendly?

Well, I'll be getting a 3DS before the end of the year, and I'm naturally looking forward to the experience.

However, one thing that's concerned me, even before the design for the 3DS was officially announced, was that the slide pad would be impossible to use if I was also using my stylus in my left hand. For the current games released on the 3DS, do they have a control scheme that requires the simultanious use of the slide pad and stylus, and if so, is there a way to change the controls? In MPH for the DS, I used the ABXY keys with the stylus, and I didn't mind that, so do you think that 3DS FPS games in the future will have this option?

edit: left-handed friendly ("ganded" fail)

You're screwed. No such option will exist. Even if they made it, the abxy buttons on the 3DS just aren't suitable for moving.

You'd better start trainning your right hand with the stylus ma friend.

You can always try and be ambidextrous :P

Us right handed people have it worse. When using the stylus, we can't use ANY of the face buttons.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

 Good thing I'm right-ganded.

use your index finger instead of a stylus and it will be easier, put a protective screen on the touch screen first though since ideally you'd use the tip of your nail for a lot of things.

Ooohh...that's dirty!

My old guitarist was a Lefty, and he always said he liked the DS set up,  cause he could use the stylus with his dominate hand and hold the DS by the ABXY buttons. He especially liked the set up with stylus-centric games like Phantom Hourglass and Metroid Prime: Hunters.

LISTEN TO THE FIRST WORLD PODCAST REAL GAMERS, REAL AWESOME

You won't have the same issues with the 3DS because of the design of the machine. Action takes place on the top screen because of the 3D, making the majority of the games controlled mainly using the buttons. The touch screen has been relegated to an accessory, and with the added sensitivity of it, you should be able to use your finger, i.e. Street Fighter.
