It's just as bad for a kid who just became Christian to tell that to his atheist parents.

It would depend on the parents I guess (it's the same in both cases).

Got any advice though?

Dunno if it's just as bad. Christian parents will possibly believe their atheist child will go to hell, whereas atheist parents will probably just believe a Christian child is basically wasting their time.

thats two more easters!! do you know how boring easter is? also im still going to live with them until i finish college so thats going to be another problem.

I know what you mean. I'm in the same boat obviously. I may have to live with them even after I finish college, 'cause who knows when I'll be able to afford my own place?

And yeah, Easter isn't so fun. Christmans is much cooler.

The bright side is that if you're thrown in the streets at least Like a Rolling Stone will become an even better (!) sound, and that's just invaluable. Might be worth it.

Just say this to them

"Hell is not a place you go, if you not a christian

it's the failure of your lifes greatest ambition

It's a bad decision to blindly follow any religion"

then you follow up "Before i decide what religion i am, i must do extensive research" then in about 6 months, tell them you dont believe in any religion.

Won't the bolded part offend or upset them? As for the final paragraph, what's the point of it. Wouldn't it just be easier to just tell them I've come to the conclusion that all religions are false?

Religous people get offended no matter what... And atleast your giving them idea, your looking into the relgion... Its like saying "Hey im looking for a job" and then 6 months later "well i couldnt find a job sorry " instead of saying "im not looking for a job at all"

Well, I see where's you're getting at, but if I do it I don't think I'd word it like that.

Religion usually makes people think that their opinion is right, and everything else is wrong.

Or they'll think their child is suffering from mental illness and they're trying to de-program her.

Actually, lots of cults brainwash people, so deprogramming may not bet hat exaggerated.
