Forums - Nintendo - Miyamoto trying to get Mario 3DS out this year

It'll be Super Mario Bros. 3-2

Around the Network

Nintendo always says they want to get a game out as soon as possible.  But then they get delayed for 6 months to 2 years.

But I'm not mad, because 9 times out of 10, the end product is worth it.

Six upcoming games you should look into:

I'm still expecting a mid 2012 release

i just want to know what the hell it is, is it a 2d game, a 3d one a crazy combo and most importantly will we really see raccoon Mario??? best powerup from the best game in the series IMO. screw it just remake Mario 3

From the images shown at GDC, it is pretty clear it is a 3D platformer game.

Above: still the best game of the year.

Yeah... he said the same about Super Mario 64 (whole system got delayed) and Super Mario Galaxy (Iwata: "I'm pushing Miyamoto-san to release it right at the launch of the Wii!")

With pretty much one big game a month starting June and Mario Kart plus Animal Crossing AND a 3D Mario for the holidays things would look quite crowded, wouldn't they?

They are probably planning for a Mario Bros. to be released late next year so I guess this one will be an early 2012 release - as in "Q1-early" since they seem to be using assets from Mario Galaxy which means less development time.

Jeez, why are they so afraid of "milking" 2D Mario? It's probably the most milking-resisting game series in the market =/

People that claimed the milking don't really play or never played them 2D Mario games.

I think you either got that wrong or my english was bad (quite possible ). I believe Iwata is afraid of milking the franchise while they should really get more 2D Mario out there. I guess he's afraid of having too many Mario games between the 2D and 3D ones or he thinks of 2D Mario as something that only needs one game per generation (like Mario Kart). I think he's wrong, though.

And I wholeheartedly agree with your reply.

can not wait

Can't wait until nintendo takes my money.
