@onyxmeth how have i been poorly misinformed?? I was impressed by what i saw in movies and TV and not so impressed by what i saw on 3DS. I saw no pop out playing SSF4, but as people keep saying that is a poor representation.
I need to check out this PilotWings people keep talking about, maybe ill get a better impression, but for now i cant judge it properly by 2d screens and just what people said. I could see how people dont like wearing glasses especially if they already have to wear them, good thing i have contacts. FYI not all 3d movies are great, some of the effects suck.

My point is that you were under the impression that the reason the 3D sucked on the 3DS was because it was glassless. There's no difference between what you see in the theaters and what you see on the 3DS. It's all 3D. Games are always going to present more depth though, because they're games, not films. Developers are going to try and utilize 3D in a way that is beneficial to the game, and that's not often going to be pop out. That's because in most games, the action takes place from the front of the screen towards to the back of the screen. Your avatar is often the object closest to the front of the screen, so unless that is continuously popping out, you're going to experience mainly depth, and popout that is used sparingly for desired effect.
Also no, a fighting game on a 2D plane is not going to portray a great 3D pop effect. That should have been evident before you played it. The Dynamic View in SF is a little better in regards to 3D, but it's effectively unplayable. There are menu icons that have a perfectly adequate pop out effect like the pencils that circle the Activity Log icon, so trust me when I say it's merely a design choice. When films come to the 3DS, every pop out effect is going to shine in full glory as best as they can on a mini screen.
