@oniyide: maybe you find the 3D so-so because SSFIV is a conversion of the HD game that didn't have any focus on real 3D viewing. If you check the review of 3DS games, this is one game that have the worst 3D effect (You can see clearly the "end" of horizon with the big background static image).

Things will be better with games that get made for the 3DS with 3D view in mind.

@09tarheel  you know what, your probably right, i did read reviews where it said that SSF4 wasnt really pushing the 3D thing, I do wanna play Ridge Racer since i heard that looked great and im a fan. Never cared for PilotWings but WTH, ill give it a go

Hmm SSF4, from what I've read, is often cited as the least impressive 3ds games in terms of it's 3d effects(though it's also rated as the best overall game available at this point in time)...

PILOTWINGS RESORT (which is the only other game I've played so far) has much better effects, though I had to play it for a while before I thought so. Flying over the mountains and through rings and stuff is pretty cool in 3d. I guess PWR was specifically made to utilise the 3d technology moreso than ssf4

Mostly I turn the 3d off anyway (I like the system and would have bought it either way just cos I'm a nintendo fanboy). Just put it on every now and then to check out what certain things look like, but I like the machine a lot...just wish I hadn't bought day one!

It is better for me, since I can shift depending on how my "sleepy" or unfocused I am. Also having glasses on top of glasses is actually very annoying.

I got 3 games at launch, Pilotwings, Rayman 3D and Ridge Racer and I think Ridge Racer has the best 3D effect out of those. I'm really impressed with that game actually. Try it.

My first 2 games were SSFIV and Steel Diver, which I thought had pretty cool 3D effect, but I just got Pilotwings and holy cow! That game is certainly a great showcase for the 3D effect. It just looks and feels natural, and actually helps the game being able to see distance and depth. If you haven't played it, it's the best example I've seen so far.

I disagree on your 3D experience. I think you just needed to try another game. I played pilot wings and that was great effect. I'd bet watching avatar on it would make people realize that it's just as good as a theater (minus giant HD screen)

the diff between 3ds and 3dtv with glasses is that 3d glasses decrease your ability to get laid by 400%

no offense but after following Sony's route and adding a nub a 'gen' later, it better have been better..and I agree my gamestop had the same setup with ssiv and I thought the nub worked well(better than the psp for sure). However sony took notes and has stepped it up even more with NGP and the two analog sticks

about the hw itself, only played it for a little bit with my gf and she liked it, she usually gets headaches watching 3d movies but for some reason 3ds was fine for her. Maybe it takes a lil while to kick in or just that it differs from person to person. Solid hw from what I could tell and the 3d slider thing was a smart move
