I'm just trying to point out what I percieve as an issue for the site and am not trying to say you do a bad job or are biased (if that were the case, with the site's userbase, we'd have a different HD tie ratio).

I currently still see gamrReview as a part of the site that is "casually" updated (no offence meant, i'm talking about the rate of review not the quality), which promted me to look at the numbers and the conclusion confirms to me the rate of output that was apparent to me as a user. however, I do conceed the Wii/DS has a drought of good games argument (though games such as golden sun are hardly minor releases with over 1M sales in the previous instalments).

@ Mach: I realize that a sample is not accurate, but it is still a sample spanning the last 6 months (and my calc tool is my little fingers :p so... can't do much about that).

Well, yes, it's an issue, but there's a very easy way of fixing it...
