yeah and 2030 250 million...in one month...man you know what i mean...it will sell better each year till the sucessor arrives...if PS4 is coming in 2014 i believe 2013 will the best selling year for PS3..

Yes, 2010 was PS3's peak year. Why?

The current generation will end in 2012.

At best, Sony has this year and 2012 to beat 2010's numbers.

Once Nintendo has shifted it's focus from the Wii to the Wii 2 in 2012, it will be a race for the silver medal between the 360 and PS23. Sure the PS3 may beat the 360 in 2013, but no one will care because the Wii already took home the gold medal by then.

$100 price cut this year? if they did that, ps3 would surely have its best ever sales.when do sony give us a sales projection? like in 2009 they said 15 million and everyone knew straight away there was gonna be a big price drop in 2009. if they come out and say they expect to sell 17-18 million ps3's, you can bet your ass the ps3 is going down to $299 this year. it'll have to, to reach them kind of sales.

hardcore gamers like hardcore games.  when nintendo starts developing their own games in the vein of halo/killzone/gears of war/god of war ... then the hardcore games will buy a nintendo console. 

until then, i don't expect third parties to give nintendo any exclusive core games which means i'll be happy to play them elsewhere.  it's not the third party's job to create a market ... that's the job of the platform owner.

PS3 already down 500K YoY.  I still suspect that Sony will not make a price move until September and the move will only be $50 and with  MS and Nintendo also making price moves I dont suspect the market will change.  So when will the PS3 have a week let alone a month where it improves YoY?  Think it is more likely than not that it wont until a price cut and that wont be able to overcome the continued drop YoY.
