Yes, 2010 was PS3's peak year. Why?
The current generation will end in 2012.
At best, Sony has this year and 2012 to beat 2010's numbers.
Once Nintendo has shifted it's focus from the Wii to the Wii 2 in 2012, it will be a race for the silver medal between the 360 and PS23. Sure the PS3 may beat the 360 in 2013, but no one will care because the Wii already took home the gold medal by then.
