Not really, console bussiness needs to be more open about games, ideas and studios if they want to cotninue in the market, otherwise consoles'll become a endangered species living only in a handfull of exclusives.

Saints Row 3 is what we are getting.

But III, VC, and San Andreas still kick ass. The games just got bloated since then.

There's only been one since the games you mentioned hasn't there?
You can't base judgement on an entire series on one installment, esp when you admit yourself it has a 3:1 success rate.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

If this is true and ir could be since GTA was on Nintendo DS, then it`s really big not just because it`s GTA, but it could attract other developers we are afraid to invest on Nintendo`s side.

it may be true, if nintendo realized his mistakes and if the console is similar in power to the ps3, rockstart does not loose to much money to put it in an extra console, even if it will sell less than the others 2, it can still sell like i dont know 1  or 2 millions, which is extra money for a game that is so expensive to develop

being overated is a big part of the reason why GTA sells those numbers to begin with... being over rated isnt bad per se as it does help just like underated hurts

GTA isn't overated, it's just not for you, can't you see it? I can't say that Sonic/Mario is extremely overated just because I don't like it. GTA is selling so well because a lot of people likes it even if YOU don't like it. Wii Fit is selling so well because it's useful for some people (and not for You). It's really a matter of taste/opinion.
