Wii lowest sales ever? The fad is over!

Shame it only lasted 5 and a half years of course

Credit where it's due, the console was bound to fail, and it didn't. It changed the world, so a few months of average sales won't change that...

The Wii came out in 2006.

*ahem*

4 and a half years

6 years if the Wii2 releases in 2012, as is predicted. I don't think we'll see much of anything at E3 TBH. If we do only a vague hint of something, not a full-blown reveal like the 3DS last year...

i'm not going to argue for or against the fad argument. but the fact is wii sales didn't just start droping, they've been dropping since 2007.

And yet it's STILL on par with the other two consoles, as proven by your signature, which doesn't look too good for the HD consoles..

Looks pretty fantastic for 2nd and 3rd place consoles to me, the market leader sales are the one's that don't look too good.

OT:

Without any SW or focus on Wii, I can't see a $30 cut doing significant numbers ... so I expect an average of 130/150k over the summer.

WITHOUT a price cut ... I don't expect it to go below 85k ...

Japan - 5k
Americas - 40k
EMEAA - 40k

Roughly ...

Right. Thank you Seece (And Machina, saves me the hassle of sending strong letters out to the pair of you...at least you had the decency to stop.)

Your predictions seem fairly accurate, but 5k in Japan is a bit low for my liking. Even with the current trends...I don't see it falling much harder personally. But I've been wrong before...

I would have laughed at your silly attempt to tell me off O_0

Japan, 5k .. in the middle of summer it'll reach that without a price cut.

What is amazing is how it's doing VS PS3 which is doing relatively decent numbers.

Tell you what will be interesting, Nintendo's Wii forecast on/around 28th for the next fiscal year ... if they're aiming for 16 mill 2011, then even with a price cut I can't see it beating 15 mill for 2012.

I would have just reffered you to Rule 8 of the forum rules is all...

I don't know much about Japan other than they're into some weird stuff. Which is why the 360 fails so badly and the PSP outsells the 5-week old rival there

Don't expect the PS3 to stay like this for long.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Is it really that soon? Dayum...

Still, 15mil for a 6 year old console which was doomed from the offset is pretty darn impressive. Anyone know what the PS2 pulled in its sixth year?

(I'm just imagining the week after the price is cut to $99...you'll be on average closer to a Wii than a rat.)

Not surprised PSP is beating the 3DS there, it's a much more attractive offer right now.

And if PS3 sales havn't dropped over the last month or so, I can't see them going rapidly down now ...

That would make sense if the PSP wasn't the worst selling console pretty much every single week WW...

The PS3 has had a steady stream of releases and advertising, offers etc. In the summer it's possible that it will drop back behind the Wii and even the 360 without compelling SW. The PS3 isn't the Wii, it isn't the PS2, but it's certainly FAR more attractive than this time last year. I think that gets a lot of sales. It got one from me, after all.

I wasn't talking WW was I? So that's irrelevent. In Japan it's the better deal right now.

Can't see Wii being ahead of 360 or PS3 without a price cut. What SW does it have coming? At least 360 has multiplats to spur some sales and interest.

Erm...well...there's...

Conduit 2

Wii Play:Motion

...

Hey, it's better than Q1, I'll give it that.

I reckon 360>Wii next week, only just, then Wii>360 after this unofficial price cut, bar adjustments, of course.

Very true.

I'm one of those people you hate for no reason.  I was a mistake afterall.

Don't flatter yourself I don't hate people on the internet, what a waste of emotion, regardless don't take us off topic and ruin yet another thread.

Why don't you try and contribuit and stop wallowing in these threads? I feel sorry for Nintendo fans having to put up with doom and gloom not only from Sony/MS fans, but from Nintendo fans as well ...

Just stop it cos nobody wants to hear it, right?

You hate me as you've already demonstrated before,  if it bothers them then they can simply skip any comments I've ever written and will write.

Alright, stop now, you're completely de-railing this thread.

Check your inbox Nintendogamer.

Yay!

Ot: Well, next week flat, a couple of k different, I don't think the price cut comes to effect until another week.

The price cut week? It won't go up so much because it isn't the "real" one, and if I'm correct, it is so far American only.

The "real" price cut in May will be bigger though.
