My intentions were not meant to provoke hostilities, I just though the Tak Fuji moment was really dumb when I watched it :P

That's totally not the point. It's just a very charmingly awkward and human moment, and I don't think anyone thinks he's an idiot because of it. Anyway, if he's not fluent he's damn near it (judging from Twitter), and I think the awkwardness was more down to his being enthused about a B-level game and trying to hype it to a crowd of jaded journalists in the middle of the strangest press conference in human history.
