hey, don't be so harsh, it's totally realistic 3DS will go from 400k launch week, to under 75k weekly .... lawl

While 300k is a little too extreme, that is pretty similar to its performance in Japan.  Down to 61k in its fourth week.  374k first week, 418k in the four weeks after.  That was also a 2 day launch week versus 7 days in the NPD I believe.  Actually I guess if you were to say the first week was a full seven days in Japan, then yeah it probably did about 300k in the following month.

Now I don't expect sales to drop so drastically in America, but then again I don't think too many people were expecting this situation in Japan either.

Seece, I find it kind of sad, that you are more level headed these days, then most users on this site.

I'm always level headed :O:O:O

Sony responds to the NPD report but doesn't issue any specific PS3 sales data.

Sony Computer Entertainment America has just released its NPD statement, responding to NPD's March report. The company noted that the overall PlayStation business saw some significant growth, but the company didn't provide any specific sales information.

"According to the latest NPD report, PlayStation saw double digit growth across hardware and peripherals, signaling continued momentum for the PlayStation platform and consumer demand for immersive 3D and precision motion game play," said Patrick Seybold, Sr. Director of Corporate Communications at SCEA.

"Led today by the PlayStation Move motion controller, Move accessories and the deep lineup of Move-compatible software titles, PlayStation peripherals have now achieved double-digit growth for 19 consecutive months, according to NPD. People are loving the gaming experience provided by true stereoscopic 3D and PlayStation Move, and we'll up the ante next week with the release ofSOCOM 4: US Navy Seals."

Haha, It's quite funny how Nintendo tries to comfort everyone with the release of Wii Play 2 in... 2 months.

It is more funnier, that this is happening even if I am down on the 360 for the past year.

So this confirms that is not HW and peripherals combined, but seperate.  And damn, double-digit growth for 19 consecutive months?  Is the Move doing a little better than some think?  I'm guessing Sony will be announcing the updated shipped figure for the Move at E3.

That the first time Sony posted anything about NPD on twitter... why?

19 months makes sense.  Pretty much since the slim was released.  Then it had move last year to keep things up YoY against the slim.

huh?thats confirm?
