Too late, already got in Virtual Console a month ago.
If it is the PSX version, then it is the inferior version of the game.

If so, I think I shall jizz my pants. *edit* No. It was Final Fantasy IV that was packed with Chrono Trigger. Now I shall place the previously mentioned jizz back into its original container. This may take a while...... |
The PS3 doesn't let you speed up load times :S

I hope it's not just a port from the SNES version but more like what they're doing with V on PSN. |
I have that theme orchestrated with vocals somewhere on a CD in my room. That version is by far the best for me.

Well if the load times were terrible on PS1 then wouldn't they be lot better on classic version since both PS3 hdd and memory stick are faster than cd drive in first playstation ? |
I assume they would be faster from memory but funny enough when you play the PS version on the PS3 the load times are still just as awful. We're talking at least a two second pause just to bring up the menu screen. It sucks beyond belief.
Are they not releasing the PS1 FF Anthology? or rather split the game to double the sales?

"I hope is the GBA version" "I hope they fix this and that"
It is a PS1 classic, it'll be a ROM dump of the PS1 version with the exact same everything of the PS1 version. Nothing more, nothing less. |
Yeah, realized that a bit later and confirmed it pretty much when I saw screenshots of the movies from the PS game. It's a shame because the GBA version is by far the best version. It has the better translation, extra espers, extra dungeons, extra spells, and fixed a lot of the bugs.
Oh well, I'll still get it.
I just hope that they actually remake it, I couldn't stand playing VI on ps1 after playing FF3/4 on DS. That 2d...mehhh.
All of this, of course, is just my opinion.
Skyrim 100%'d. Dark Souls 100%'d.
Dark Souls > Skyrim.
Halo 4 is the best damn FPS since Halo 3.

You're right. It just lets you smooth the graphics a little. I've actually never used my PS3 to play a PS1 game for more than a few seconds, though. I usually download them and then port them straight to my PSP's memory stick. At least that console will let me improve the load speeds of PS1 games. I'll probably end up getting it and doing that.

It could be because altering loading times could create huge problems with gameplay and would require huge reprogramming to fix. A lot of games are designed for slow CD drive and would not work properly (if at all) with faster loading. So, those slow loading have been kept because games could break without them. This also applies to many games on PS3, Wii and 360, a lot of them are designed for DVD/BR drive so installing them wouldn't help.
