L.A Noire to come with PS3 exclusive content

Several online retailers have updated the PS3 boxart of L.A Noire with text which reads, exclusive content: Only on PS3.

Gamestop has also detailed the bonuses one can expect if they purchase the game from them:

• A standalone case
• 20 Police badges

Pre-Order L.A. Noire with GameStop and receive a code to unlock the exclusive vice case, The Naked City and the Badge Pursuit Challenge.

• The Naked City: In a standalone case from the main story, Detective Cole Phelps investigates the supposed suicide of a stunning fashion model.
• Badge Pursuit Challenge: Unlocks 20 Police badges to find across Los Angeles. Collect all 20 to unlock more bonus items.

Walmart has also updated their PS3 page with the following:

• LA Noire w/ Walmart Exclusive’The Slip of the Tongue’ Detective Case (PS3)

Exclusively available when you purchase from Wal-Mart at launch, “A Slip of the Tongue” is a standalone case on the Traffic Desk in which a seemingly run of the mill car theft ends up sparking an explosive investigation into the largest auto fraud racket the city has ever seen. Amazon’s are yet to detail the bonuses, though.

This is great news for PS3 users, as they can expect some exclusive content for the game. This is not the first time, that a 2K Games title is doing this, Mafia II also came with PS3 exclusive content.

L.A Noire releases next month for PS3 and Xbox 360.

Why do this and leave 360 users in the dust, Now I dont feel like buying it

It probably won't be anything too big, can't wait for the game though

I really like the cover, I may just buy the game based on that.

Was always goin' to buy this on PS3 anyway, just an added incentive now I suppose.

God how I hate this , not only are you making launch DLC but you're limiting them by both console AND by retailer? Fuck that shit.

Yeah I have to agree, this is a very bad practice which will only lead to worse down the road.

If the game is available on both consoles, then both should get complete versions of the game.

Even though it is the PS3 which is getting the content, lets not forget who started this whole mess;

MICROSOFT!!

Went from Exclusive to multi-plat. All games are doing this (Red dead, Assassin's Creed, Dead Space, Bulletstorm to name a few). At the end of the day does an extra mission REALLY matter? Not so much. The retailer one sucks though I will admit
