err yes? If you have to be a gold member to play these games, you are still paying for the use. His point stands. If it is available to silver members (is that what they are called?), then that would be a false analogy, but if it isn't, it is a perfect comparison of the two.

I think some clarifying is in order.  Some uf us think they're talking about a game that we get for free (Like Pain was for PSN, or Crash Course for XBL).  That's cool.  A decent, free game that everyone can play is never a bad thing.

Others think it's a game we pay for but we can play online for free (I can't think of an example) whether we have XBL Gold or XBL Silver.

Still, others think it's a game that we download for free, play online for free, and only pay for bonus content (Home, Free Realms).

And the rest just want to free Hat even though he killed a bunch of babies (in self defense, of course).

 

I just want 1 vs. 100 to come back.

Be happy, a while back there was an industry rumor going around that they were going to make a platinum level to XBL. If it came true I'd suspect a F2P MMO would be platinum only.

Plenty of room for a model of this sort but it does need to be free to all members not just gold especially if it involves micro transactions of any kind. Games like Battlefield Heroes would be a blast for on XBL. They just have to strike the balance.

What they should do is have it free to play with micro transactions for Silver members and have it totally free to play for Gold members.

But that probably won't happen.

@yo_john117- thanks And I wouldn't know, I haven't payed for Xbox Live in years >.<

Never found any real reason to pay the price when the Wii and PS3 do it for free and have games I'd rather play online...

not really. First dont but in, second it doesnt say it is for live at all in it, so going by the information (or lack there of it) you would assume it is for silver as well.

Dont start fights where there are none
