Forums - Microsoft - Good arguments in favor of the 360 over PS3?

If you wantthe games on the XBOX360, then get it.

I got a PS3 because it had all the games I wanted on the HD consoles, with the exception of Dead or Alive 4.  And 3DS is getting a new DOA game so I'll survive.

Gears of War is fun, but aside from that exclusive, I can pretty much get all the other games I want on 360 on either PS3 or PC.  So if you can find other exclusives you want, get the XBOX360.

Make a list of all the games you would buy if you owned a 360, if the list is big and bitchin', then buy it.

For me...

- Halo 3 (and Reach)

- Gear 1 (not 2 and maybe 3)

- Mass Effect 1 (why not?)

It's funny, before coming to the thread to read what you had to say, I was gonna suggest getting it if you liked FPS games and thought the Kinect was worth your time...but I see you're not interested in either.  that leaves only a few games that are really worth getting.  Gears of War, Left 4 Dead, and Halo are all FPS titles exclusive to Xbox 360 (console wise), and they're all shooting games, which you're not into.  Call of Duty is better on Xbox, but again, shooter.

All the absolute best games this generation come out on both consoles, so really you gotta weigh out the exclusive games to the hardware to the price and the price of XBL and the downloads and what's on the horizon.

I have a 360, I have quite a few games for it, but really I kinda wish I didn't.  As I said, all the best games come out on both systems and I'm not too fond of the exclusives (not into FPS games too much, not into racing games like forza or project gotham), I don't like the Kinect at all, I refuse to put another dime into XBL unless someone gives me VERY good reason to do so, all that leaves is games like Mass Effect, Fable, and some of the XBLA games like Limbo and Super Meat Boy and Shadow Complex.

Personally, I kinda feel that, if you haven't gotten one yet, you'll get along just fine without it, spend that money on LittleBigPlanet or inFamous 2 or Uncharted 3 or Resistance 3 or something, plenty coming up in the PS3's future, the only 'good' game on the Xbox's horizon is Gears of War 3, which isn't of interest to you since you're not a fan of shooters.

My Console Library:

PS5, Switch, XSX

PS4, PS3, PS2, PS1, WiiU, Wii, GCN, N64 SNES, XBO, 360

3DS, DS, GBA, Vita, PSP, Android

In my opinion, if you can come up with like 10 games that interest you on any console, it might be worth a purchase. Because 10 games should be worth like a few hundred hours of entertainment depending on the genres.

I bought a PSP recently. My logic was while there isn't any big games to look foward too, there is still a back log of games that will give me hundreds of hours of entertainment.

If you don't like shooters, then I really can't see any reasons to buy a 360. Normally the COD/Halo/Gears combo is what entices hardcore gamers to get on the 360 for a great MP experience on Xbox live.

If thats not your cup of cake, then I think its better you just stick with your ps3.

i totally disagree biased  i smell

Normally I'd say it would be a great idea to get a 360 but in terms of future exclusives I don't see enough to justify buying the console. However, hopefully MS will have a few killer exclusives up its sleeve for E3 2011. It's a personal choice though and it's up to you.

If your not that keen, then just wait until the end of the generation and pick one up for like a $100 and then buy all the 360 games for like $10 each. I did it with the original Xbox and it was crazy awesome, nothing beats the feeling of picking up Jade Empire for $3 and finidng out that it's amazing. I find great value in owning a 360, but I'm also happy with just playing one or two games a month on it, so if your the same way, then go for it.

Also, your friends are way to interested in your console purchasing habits, you should probably tell them to back off.

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

Do you like the XBLA exclusives? If not, don't buy one. If so, buy one.

I agree with this.  10 seems to be the magic number that seals my decision to buy a console (or handheld).

And I too recently bought a PSP because I found over 10 games I want interested in playing.
