For sure.  It's not like there is anything uniquely "Holllywood".

"Hollywood" became big because America was big... not vice versa.

They became big back when "America was cool" and american stuff was cool.

Though, the international hollywood and the hollywood that's big in the US can be pretty different anyway.

Heck, while not hollywood, the Governator has been picked up internationally but not domestically.

As I answered to HappySquirell, had the US been a warzone, there would've been no Hollywood.

That's not actually true.

Well it is, but not for the reasons you think.

Hollywood grew, because the US had the most dominate economy at the time.  The US had the most dominat economy at the time, partly because... yes the US wasn't in a warzone.

The US still has the most dominate economy, as far as a "unified culture" goes. .. so it would really just replay itself.

I mean war breeds culture, it doesn't kill it. (Well outside the art destroyed as collatral damage by war.)

It could also be due to the fact that the movie industry was exploited for profit more in the US then in other places in the world. European movies have always had more of an indie-feel, and never seem to be made to entertain.

That's frighteningly true, unfortunatly, the cultural influence is so out of sync with America, and what it used to stand for, that it's pretty much a detriment. So yeah, let them go.

You'll regret it if that ever happens. You should be more grateful for what you have.

No, no I really won't. There is literally nothing worth saving in California.

actually there is alot, all the environmental pushs have cleaned up most of the smog in San Fran. Cali is the leader in the USA for the clean energy push. There are at least 500MW of power being constructed right now which even if most of that power goes to businesses and corporations it cuts down the need for coal energy.

Now if only California would instate laws banning generation 3 and below nuclear plants. =/

Anyways, there are also a lot of very beautiful women in Cali which need protection. And there is also amazing surf, for those that surf. It is a great tourist state, better than Florida.

Overall, I'd rather see Florida fail, like it is (thanks Rick Scott!), because it sucks. But Florida could easily be out of debt if my horrid governor would take the 20 billion from BP!!!!

No there is literally nothing, the environmental push has had a huge part in bankrupting California, it is also doing the same to the rest of the Untied States. Smog reduction is great, but those nutjobs didn't stop there.

The reason "Generation 3 and below" nuclear plants still exist is because of the green movement, which California is a pioneer of. Due to regulations, taxes, and the green movement, they have made it next to impossible to build or upgrade nuclear plants, infact they are trying to phase out nuclear all together.

California isn't the only place beautiful women can be found.

Florida is one of the better states, sorry, but it's a fact, at least they aren't bankrupt yet...unlike Claifornia.

1, Actually gen 3 and below are still active, not because of California, but because of the Republican party. They stifle all innovation in the market that improve efficiency and cleaner emissions. If the government wouldn't put such extreme regulations on improving things and getting everything certified up the ass by the FDA/FCC/FTC etc things would be better. Even the EPA has stated they would love to see gen 4 and 5 reactors running thorium in the USA. It just won't happen till barriers are removed.

2. Eventually nuclear needs to be phased out. It pollutes pretty badly, but at least advances in how the technology is used reduces it. Even some scientist, forget who, invented mini-nuclear reactors that give like 100MWs of power each and can be ran in parallel to increase output. Meaning putting a small cluster of them together will power a large corporate building or a community of homes. Cost is if I remember like 10,000 euros, meaning the are cheap, but the development was in a foreign nation that supports advancements in energy technologies rather than hinders them.

3. True, but there are a lot of hot women in Cali.

4. Florida is in debt of $5.6 billion. While not the highest in the nation, it's still bad.

XD what? Did you not read what I said, the green movement is completely against nuclear power plants of any kind, and have worked hard lobbying against any such power source. Most of those regulations you speak of for the FDA/FCC/FTC/EPA were put into place by liberals, infact, the programs themselves were brought into existance by a liberal president.

2. Eventually nuclear needs to be phased out. It pollutes pretty badly, but at least advances in how the technology is used reduces it. Even some scientist, forget who, invented mini-nuclear reactors that give like 100MWs of power each and can be ran in parallel to increase output. Not with the proper technology it doesn't. Since air and solar pawer are both unreliable, and the green movement has done all it can to kill water dams, coal and oil powerplants, what's left? With proper disposal, Nuclear is the ONLY option.

3. True, but there are a lot of hot women in Cali.

That's a weak argument at best.

4. Florida is in debt of $5.6 billion. While not the highest in the nation, it's still bad.

Bad yes, but it is liberal policies that put you guys there, at least you have a conservative who, hopefully, can get some common sence economic policies back in place and bring you guys back into the black. At any rate, wishing Florida would go away because you don't like the governor is just silly, especially since it is not doing near as bad as some states, and nowhere close to how messed up California is...I say good riddance to them.

Rules should be laid down according to ration. The majority certainly doesn't think rationally, hence why they aren't allowed (or shouldn't be allowed) to vote on civil rights.
