Forums - PC - Good Gaming Monitor?

I am thinking of purchasing a new monitor specifically for the following reasons:

1. Watch HD movies.

2. Gaming (connect 360 and ps3 to it, and obviously PC).

I was thinking of something in the 23-24inch range and 1080p. Min Budget: none.

Should I get something with HDMI ports fr the consoles? or convert from dvi to hdmi?

LED or LCD?

TN v IPS? trade of being response time for picutre quality. Will I get ghosting if I trade off?

a forum full of gamers and not ONE opinion??

My main monitor, which I use for gaming and watching movies/shows, is this:

And it is SICK. Given that how cheap it was (for a 2.5 extrmeely amazing monitor) this thing will be my main for many years to come.

The speakers are obviously not the highest quality, but definitely serve well enough for movies and shows and video games where you don't need any directoinal sound.

I'm not a huge PC gamer, but I enjoy my 24 inch 1080p monitor, with 60hz refresh. The quality is good enough for what I use it for. I know the response time is important, I think 5 ms is average but 3 is optimal. You also need a high contrast ratio. Though I don't know too much about monitors.

After hours of reading these are the 4 i been considering

Top quality monitor from Dell, the only concern would be if you're a professional gamer as the screen has a 6ms response time (I'm fairly certain it inserts black frames between each image so there is no motion blurring). You will rarely notice this if you game normally unless you're extremely sensitive, the key feature here is the great colour depth.

Too late to join the party?

Anyway, if you want display reviews you can go to flatpanelshd or tftcentral. If you can't find what you are looking for there you can check [H]ardforum, it's display forum is very active and useful.

I can tell you that the U2410 has the best picture quality due to bing IPS, and most people don't seem to find troubles with it when playing.
