I'm envious that they have David Cage while we're stuck with Peter Molyneux.

Why are you envious of anything? Don't you have a PS3? Besides, not only is that a little odd that you'd take the "console wars" that seriously, but Molyneux has done plenty for the brand he works for.

His only issue is not fulfilling the risks he speaks of. Then again, his ambitions many times get the best of him.

Yes I have a PS3 but I'm Xbox. Molyneux doesn't get that much respect anymore, not as much as he did before.

The console wars are very important.

you will make Milo sad ya know :P

I think it's crazy to care that much, especially when you own the system. Just be happy we have devs that take these risks in the first place.

Yeah it's crazy but because there's still so many others who care (and who put down the Xbox) I have to care too.

Anyway, yes I'm happy there are ppl who have visions and originality and it was cool of Sony to support that and it paid off.

All 3 systems recieve their fair share of put downs, it's not just the Xbox. It's meaningless to fight with it though slimebeast, you're not going to move anyone. As I said, just be happy that this type of dev exists.

Meaningsles to fight with what? With people who put the opponent's console down?

Yeah but I act as a counter force. By speaking out and supporting it I strengthen my brand and its followers.

agreed. its time for more inovation and change in this industry

The innovation is there, it's just many devs take the easy way out and develop what works. People like Cage, Ueda, Kojima get the respect they do because they are always trying to push a medium (and thus are called geniuses for it).

To me, it's not so much that they're talented, it's that they take risks many haven't dared to.

wow! been gone for 3wks and i come back to a post like this! i've missed them. well said CGI. i could agree more. i'm alittle teary eyed from that post srry.

your post says it all.

No need to be envious, David Cage is a Peter Molyneux in the making. It's only a matter of time until both will be mocked on similar levels. David Cage is the same type of developer, someone who likes to talk about his vision and sooner than later he will put out a game that underdelivers after he overpromised with his ambitions.

One part of me hopes your right

Which is why I'll never really consider the Molyneux/Cage comparisons to be valid. Both men have high ambitions, sure, but both have completely different ways of execution and only one of them has slipped up.

yea spot on. ambition is nothing without follow through.

I read nothing revolutionary here. Heavy rain is a great game but it didnt change anything for me ive played games with better stories and that have hooked me more. He just seems a little preachy to me did he say he would leave the industry if he cant inspire others man come on new game experiences are always happening to me idk he seems a bit like peter molyneux to me lol.

gee, ya THINK we need stuff other than shooting? Thing is, WE DO HAVE THAT. God, I hate Cage. He's the very definition of a man with a bloated ego

His point is that we should seek to have more interactions in games then what we have now. Shooting is just the example he uses because it is such a prevalent mechanic in popular games today.
