If Nintendo announced a tablet peripheral for the Wii that allowed you to play DS games on TV I'd buy it in a heartbeat!

(something like a Udraw mark 2, with an actual screen)

I've been predicting Nintendo would release a new console in Winter 2012 for almost 3 years now.  An announcement at E3 2011 would be the best time, now that XBOX360 and PS3 are focused on making their systems until 'at least 2014' and the 3DS is already set to overtake the handheld market.

In short, its the DS/Wii comeback trend all over again.  Only this time if Nintendo releases their system first, third parties might focus on it.  Especially if it follows more of a trend like the GC and puts a focus on graphics.

TV out for the 3DS is supposed to be in the works already.  Possibly arriving with the big firmware update next month.

They might as well.   Its been 5 years since the Wii launched.

Thats been Nintendos consule life span in the past. 

All I really would like is for them to refine the Wii-mote so it works perfectly  all the time.  Make the consule graphics par with the PS3.

Engeneer the DevKit so its ultra easy to work with so Software company's love to produce on the Wii 2

Why isn't he refering to the NGP instead of the Oz? Is it because that system is already known?
Cross platform connectivity could be fun. But I like better the idea of a bigger and better connectivity between the next gen handheld and console, I've said this before.

Supposing the article is true/correct, connectivity to another system and the fact that it can only be talked about in a few months does raise the question: Will Wii2 be revealed around that time?Or will Nintendo connect 3DS to Wii in some way? But would that be a reason for secrecy?Personally, all the secrecy - even though we are talking about Nintendo here - makes up for a strong argument that Wii2 will be revealed sooner than later.

Checked NEOGAF for more information and someone pointed out this interview by eurogamer:
"Eurogamer: Do you see a future when you'll be able to play Street Fighter on a home console and then transport your profile onto a handheld when you leave the home and continue playing? Is cross-platform play between home and portable consoles possible?

Yoshinori Ono: Yeah, I think we're probably three months too early to answer that question. But if you're going to be at E3, see you there"

So it could mean: 3DS - Wii; 3DS - Wii 2; PS3 - NGP.
