Fullfilled Prophecies

I think everyone should stop tossing the word "hardcore" around so loosely. To me, hardcore are people who play just about every game of every genre of every skill level. So in that sense, hardcore people would own all consoles. I think the word you should use is simple "core" gamers. People who buy an average amount of games, spanning across their individual tastes in games.

Currently playing:

Unreal Tournament 3, Warhawk, Rock Band, Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy XII, DMC2, then 3, and Radiata Stories

"Stop the presses// It's been a while but I'm back in session// And in the past time my flow's matured more than adolescence// It's time to learn a lesson// So get you pen and your pad out, listen close, and take heed to this blessing"

You guys dont get what a hardcore gamer is.

A hardcore gamer is a gamer that dedicates most of his life to video games.

If you are a hardcore gamer you can have fun with the Wii too there are enough games that a hardcore gamer MUST PLAY!!

If a hardcore gamer is someone who only plays difficult games then he will be hungry....The only game that i can think off that is somehow hard is Ninja Gaiden.

Or he have to buy a Nes, Snes, Genesis...

I am hardcore [well I don't like the term but I bet I should fit your criteria of it... perhaps I should be "core" instead]

The only system I have is Wii, and who says the games are easy... The games i have so far seem, on average as easy/hard as last gen, or the gen before [I cannot vouch for previous generations as I didn't play games as much]

Perhaps you think Wii Sports is easy, but imho it is not, true if all you want to do is get silvers in the training, and only reach pro for the sports it may be considered a similar difficulty to GTA3 main missions [which is quite easy] but if you want more from a game then it is tough.

I still have not got all platinum in Wii play, and have not quite 100% completed Excite Truck [damn gate challenge] yet I completed RE4 100% much faster.... So which games are you referring to that are so "easy"

You presume 'hardcore gamers' are all some kind of gaming geniuses, wheres as 99.9% of the time it's just a name someone gives themselves because they think they are!!

Plenty of games out there that appeal to the self proclaimed 'hardcore gamer' that are very easy such as Halo, MOH, COD and most other shooters.

Seems the 'hardcore gamer' tag is not used as a reference to how good at games you are but what kind of games you play.

As games have become more and more cinematic, they have become easier all across the board. Of the 30+ Xbox 360 games I bought this year, I don't think any of them are too difficult. Why would someone buy a movie that they would never see the end of? Every company is trying to be more accessable to the consumer. It's not about skill anymore. Nowadays, the industry is about graphics, play control, community, and innovation. With the exception of graphics, the Wii is arguably the total package.

Even the "harder" games give you defacto infinite lives do to save points. Heh gamers now a days would cry themselves to sleep if games instituted an "interm save only" feature. Where once you started your game back up, your saved game was deleted.

Hardcore users buy a Wii so that they can use the Virtual Console to download hardcore games (the original Super Mario Bros. is hardcore to the max!)
