Forums - Gaming - I think Square-Enix has lost it.

I was a huge Square supporter back in the day, but I'm just getting sick of their Japan-only policies for everything. Half the games they release never see release outside of Japan, and those that do come out 3-6 months later, if not longer which is frustrating.

Also, their unwillingness to do anything with the Chrono Trigger series (I mean if they dont' want to do remakes or sequels, they could at least let it come out for the VC and make some $ off it) just makes me want to burn things.

there is no way S-E games, like FF, are gonna be on VC.......unless they cost atleast 2000 Wii points

My love of Squaresoft plummeted when I finished FFVII. I have never been more disappointed in a game than FFVII. I was less disappointed when I found out Santa Claus wasn't real. Then I played FFVIII and I never looked at Square the same way. FFIX and FFX gave me a hope that they were back but FFX-2 was the last nail in my Square fanboy coffin.

Holy Crap someone who agrees with me that they pinnacled on FF VI and Chronotrigger. FF VII was a disappointement for me after playing Chronotrigger and FF VI had to take a few years and another try to appreciate it it isn't that bad but VIII yuck that was like a complete meltdown I kept giving it a chance and I even gaveit anotehr chance later on but the game and story were so dull I gave up after te space station on each attempt I lost interest. Now IX gave em a glimmer of the older FFs it was all that new or fresh but IMO it is how VII should of been at the very least...However after that I gave up on the FF franchise and was afraid to touch X or XII(aka Final Fantasy: The Phantom Menace) because well I didn't want to ruin the series and XIII looks even worse but maybe it will be good and if it is I will be first in line.

Between the Movies(FF:The Spirit Within and FF VII) the spin offs (Dirge of Cerebus) and other things that SE has done I have been incredibly let down by the company that gave me Secret of Mana, FF 1-3 (american), and Chronotrigger. they really aren't that bad but they are just a shade of what they used to be but you got admit they make up for it in terms of CGI and look.

My point was more along the lines of, if they're never going to do anything with the series, they may as well make some cash off it by dumping it on the VC, or selling the franchise.

My love for Square has been fading for a while now. They peaked with FF VII and Chrono Trigger, and then their releases got worse and worse. Basically all they do nowadays is ports and bad spin offs. They could at least do something with the Chrono series. There's like 50 final fantasy games and only 2 chrono games.

They're not even bringing the new FF IV remake overseas (at least there are no plans to bring it here)! This is definitely an insult to everyone that lives outside of Japan. I

I hope they bring FF6 DS to America.  FF4 and FF6 DS are the main reason I am going to buy a DS.

There is also no way anyone can say "it is never getting released" , they have already released ActRaiser on the VC and have stated they would support it. Since they seem intent on rehashing everything they have done, it's likely we would see it on the VC eventually. I just hope we see more, and I can always dream that Nintendo would buy them out and utilize their IP's much better (Ogre Quest, Tactics, Chrono Trigger (Im countin Chrono Cross here, it wasn't bad), SoM and others as well).

Enix has no problem putting their games on VC (ActRaiser), it's really the Square games since they seem intend on remaking each and every one.

Tag - "No trolling on my watch!"

I cant seperate Square and Enix because they are the same company now, and that one company controls the IP for both the former companies products , if they wish to remake the games no one is stopping them, but its like printing money to put it on the VC, no R&D, no manufacturing cost, nothing but whatever VC royalty exsists, and everything ontop of it is profit. I could understand if they were going to release these games on a compilation Wii disc (for use with clasic controller) but otherwise there is zero reason outside of retardation.

Perfect oppurtunity for Nintendo to buy them out and take over their IP's

I miss Chrono Trigger for one , and Chrono Cross wasn't too shabby

Nintendo can save the world, yes...

They can also take over Game Arts as well, that would be great, Lunar needs some more "good" releases.

If nintendo bought SE and cancelled FF13 for PS3 the sony fanboys would finally have to admit defeat.

 No love for Radical Dreamers?

Though maybe it's not that great. I only played the first few minutes of it. Anyone know if it was any good?
