And again, I didn't mean "simulation" in the context of a simulation game.

And sharing and demos were how the Wii and DS spread. So you can't just dismiss those. You can't use "You must buy the 3D system to be convinced you should buy it" as an argument. |
Im looking at all the resistence to the 3DS im seeing, and trying to understand why. What is it that activating this resitence?
I think consentrating on the 3D visual in it's advertizment was a big mistake.
Even with all the 3D turned off this is still a very good handheld system.

Well for me, it's the same reason as against HD (in terms of resolution and polygon count, not scale or performance). It doesn't change the substance of the games, just the style. Talent and good design is far more valuable than just changing the screen (whether HD or 3D).

Unfortunatly 3rd party publishers in general dont feel this way. Nintendo tryed to rally publishers with the Wii.
Nintendo opened the door for lowering cost. Few jumped on.
3D graphics dosent mean no more good quality software.
Is that how you feel?

Well that just shows how shallow the developers are that they prefer graphical gimmicks lower costs and to people showing actual interest in their games (sales of SF IV on the 3DS are not that good compared TvC, and yet the latter didn't convince Capcom to give the Wii that game). I know it's unforutnate, but mainly for them for being that dumb.
And I know the 3D screen won't stop good games, but the attitude that led to them supporting this over the Wii will hurt, as they are putting style over substance.

The Wii Sold on the vision of Better quality software. I know thats why I bought one.
Is the Nintendo userbase pissed off the Wii never made it to where they had en-visioned it should have accomplished?
Do some see this as a betrayle?
Nintendo had a dream. It sold a ton load of harware. But no one ever wanted to make software for it.
Dreams are nice but, they dont always end the way you want

The problem is the developers also lied and basically claimed we weren't buying games, while they weren't making the games and thus making it impossible for us to buy them.
The thing is when they actually gave us good games, we bought them (and would have bought more had they gave us more games instead of rare releases). But those weren't enough for these people. That wasn't some kind of silly dream. It's good business to go where the customers are in every place, not only where you want them to be.
Again, how is expecting a company to follow supply and demand a "dream"? THEY are the dreamers, for thinking they can follow some gaming path of sales that are based on graphics and cut scenes.
