Forums - Gaming - Bayonetta = Best Hack&Slash I've ever played.

Yeah I loved it. It doesn't have mass appeal like God of War. Personally I thought Bayonetta took a big dump on God of War 3 in terms of gameplay and fun. GOW3 is one of those games I just dont get it seems. Everyone oos and aahs about the scale of the game. GOW2 was a waaaaay better game.

For me, comparing the hack and slash games:
Best GFX tech:  God of War series
Best GFX art: Bayonetta series
Best Story: God of War series
Best gameplay: Ninja Gaiden/Bayonetta
Most rewarding: Ninja Gaiden

...and I loved the crazy music in Bayonetta too :)

Only complaint against Bayonetta is the hardest mode isn't really that hard. Same for God of War. Ninja Gaiden's hard modes are of course from the devil.

Ninja Gaiden wouldn't be that hard if it wasn't for those damn grab-happy enemies.... instant death, almost every time. It would also be harder if it didn't have such a robust checkpoint system. Still, quite a difficult game though.

Bayonetta is the best hack and slash I have ever played as well. Easily beating the runner up, Ninja Gaiden Black/Sigma in fun factor... There are games which look better, sounds better and are more challenging, but none are as fun as Baynoetta.

Cool thread and I might check out Baynoetta one day but speaking of hacknslash I'm stuck on Chapter 2 and the trials in God of War 3. I can't beat that snake woman and the two minotaurs.

snake woman? the ones that freeze ya? If so your friend is the Grapple move into a combo..do you know how to use the grapple?

Yeah she freezes me but my problem is not the snake, it's the minotaurs.

As soon as I kill the snake a 2nd Minotaur pops up and after a few seconds Im dead.

Yes I know how to grapple but I dont know what button I push to do damage once I have grappled (I just push randomly).

i'm playing bayonetta,its pretty mental

can't for the life of me know why anyone would not like the character, one of the finest arses in gaming

hmm damn I replayed it for the third time recently but I kinda forgot the layout (I remember them by heart kinda you know, if I had my DS3 in my hands now I would know for sure) but I THINK it was L1 plus Circle, even for the minotaurs, then start getting into a combo, repeated Square is the easiest. Then avoid the next attack and repeat. Easiest way to do it :D trust me you will get some really awesome weapons later on which will let you take em on head on much easier. oh and R2 for the army of sparta or w/e it was called right at the moment they hit you will push them back...a harder but awesome way to go about this is to parry and attack, which can take some practice

Interesting, I totally forgot about this game, just checked out some of the trophies..the father balder boss fight looks absolutely ridiculous; can anyone comment on the difficulty of platinum'ing this game?

All of this, of course, is just my opinion.

Skyrim 100%'d. Dark Souls 100%'d.
Dark Souls > Skyrim.
Halo 4 is the best damn FPS since Halo 3.
Proud pre-orderer of 2 PS4's and an Xbox One.

Currently Playing: Dark Souls II, South Park
Playstation 4: MGS V GZ, Killzone: Shadow Fall, NBA 2k14.

Ninja Gaiden 2 for the 360 was some mad fun. I also don't care what others say but I loved DMC4 as well.

It's excellent

Platinuming the game isnt too hard actully. the only difficulty i had was completing a few of the Alfhiem portals. completing the game on its hardest mode isnt too demanding because you dont have any requirements - so you can die, continue, get hit as much you like; the only think is i would say it is time consuming to platinum. because your movements have to be precise - its not a button basher.

oh and the Moon of Ma-Kala (whatever) works wonders on Father Balder.
