@OP your post could have sounded a less bit anti Xbox, your about to have the rain come down on you. IMHO i gotta give it to PSN, for the simple fact they dont charge you to use a portion of a game you bought. Cross game chat??? why the hell do i want to speak to someone who is not playing the game i am?? If i wanna talk to my friend that badly thats what phones are for. ive used both and the XBL interface is a little bit better. I ask all my friends what makes it worth it and they all say because their friends have it.

i love xbl, like i said in the op depending on the price of psn i think it is better, the same or even worse.

i think they are close to the same, but price is the main factor

You're right, they are both almost the same, but I think the question should of been, "Which service is better for you, xbl or psn?"  Because it all depends on the person playing.  If i just want to play halo, blops, and gears of war all day and have fun while im doing it than 50-60 bucks a year is no biggie, but if i'm going to be playing a tons of offline games with an accional online than i believe psn is the better choice.  Also don't forget, friends play a big factor here...  If you have any that play that is lol

theres a reason paid for window live failed. people knew that werent paying for anything, they were getting scammed.

Im confused...isnt Xbox live suppose to fail then.

It basically all comes down to your preferences.

I absolutely love XBL and think its far better then PSN (even though PSN is free) because it gives you the whole package and integrates it perfectly.

Party chat is the absolute best BTW.

PSN is free and live is around $80 a year in Australia, so PSN automatically wins. A few things I like about live though are the demos they have for every XBLA game, the have a larger amount of demos for their retail games and they get a few cool exclusives that don't come on PSN (Super Meat Boy, Geometry Wars, Limbo).

I also find PSN store easier to use, I don't like how XBLA games are all split into different sectors and then I have to scroll through them using a broken D-Pad that keeps making me switch panels. It also looks less classy.

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

LMAO just use the left thumbstick...soooooooooo much easier to control and use the right and left bumpers and triggers to manuver faster through stuff.

Xbox live is better because of the interface and its much easier to get together with people and play. It has created a standard for how multiplayer should work on a platform.

Also, games having dedicated servers is upto the publishers of the specific game, not the console manufacturer. If exclusives have dedicated servers, then thats because Sony made dedicated servers for those games. Its not a XBL or PSN specific thing but a game specific thing.

I think if we are talking PS Store vs XBL marketplace navigation, then PS Store has keyboard search facility available which I consider to be great. Trying to find something? Just search it and bam.

I use it more than anything else on PS store. Last time I used XBL marketplace, it didn't have search.

Also the comparison should be between PS+ and XBL gold for it to be fair. After all, there is a superior PSN service to the normal service. And it costs $10 less.

@osmanobama  fair enough, and your right in that they are alot closer than people think, thats damn impressive on Sony's part considering how far behind they were at the beginning

These are the exact reasons why I think PSN is better. You read my mind dude. Even if XBL was free. I would still prefer PSN due to the dedicated servers. Games like Killzone 2, Mag, Resistance 2, and Socom 4 support way more players than what any xbox game can.  So does xbl have any games that support over 30 players ? Guess not because they still use shitty P2P.

Really though thats up to the game developers. They decide how many players there are and whether or not to use dedicated servers.
