Forums - Nintendo - Orange Box for the Wii?

If the quality of the Wii's online was good, we'd see more online games.

@ Jessman

Again, how so? How would pointing with the Wiimote be better than the analog or the mouse/keyboard combo? You've yet to give a solid reason other than it'd be fun.

Honestly, I don't see what you have against Wii's online, other than it's under-utilized.  The online games I play on Wii are perfectly lag-free and a ton of fun.  That includes FPS MoH:H2 with 32 player online. 3rd parties tend to use their own servers so no friend codes, etc, so Valve, of all companies, would have no problem making a perfectly fine online for Wii.

That is your preference, I'm fine with Dual analog and/or mouse/keyboard.

I would say that its you then. Just read reviews for Mp3, most reviewers agree that is clearly better than any dual analog FPS in terms of controls.

Maybe they just don't want to put it on the Wii? Plus Team Fortress 2 is an online game and the Wii's online is... well... you know what I mean. The graphics aren't great, but they'd have to send a whole development team to Wii-ize it (controls, graphics, etc.).

On a side-note: Can this please be the last "Why isn't Game X on the Wii" thread? If a game isn't on the Wii, don't start a petition or whatever, the game isn't on the system, get over it.

you aint funny...

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Your analogy is pretty bad. What I mean is that if a developer saw that Online could be done well on the Wii, more devs would be inclined to do so. But since it isn't really done well, people don't care for it.

Or was it that developers didn't think it would work well... yet it's been shown that infact does work well. (See MoH H2.) It's not like developers haven't been wrong about things before. I'm not even sure there are that many games on the Wii that should have online but don't. COD3 is the only thing that comes to mind off the top of my head. I'm sure there are more... but Nintendo botched the launch of their online service in the first place. So a lot of developers first projects probably didn't even know what to expect for it.

Clearly you know where my bias lies? I have no bias. You are the one making a thread about why this game isn't on the Wii. So because I didn't agree with you, I'm biased against the Wii? OK, I enjoy your logic. And if you see no problems with the Wii's online, you must be blind. Your bias clearly lies with the Wii. I just tire of seeing "game X should be on the Wii" then everyone goes to say how great it will control on it, then say the graphics can be accomplished on the wii, etc. If EA wanted to make the game on the wii they would have, end of story. :)

ok lair... you no bias?

however you probably never been there

@ Gamerace

I've nothing against the Wii's online. It's just that it doesn't seem that good in the wake of XBL and even PSN.

@ Carlos710

Ok. So now everything reviewers say is law?

@ Kirby007

I wasn't trying to be funny, just trying to get my point across.

@ Kasz216

I have high hopes for the Wii's online. I'm just wondering how TF2 would play on that.

My pc cant run The orange box, and its windows vista.

Stop talking $hit, because I know you like attacking the ps3 and X360.

That's because your mom and dad bought a dell which ships with Vista but doesn't have the architecture to appropriately support it.  Tons of machines loaded with vista run like absolute shit, so what he's saying is actually quite accurate.  Pretty much any windows XP machine can run Orange Box just fine, as long as they aren't sporting an integrated video card like some cheap laptops.

The game looks nice but the graphics are nothing revolutionary, and that's on purpose.  Most of Valve's profits come from the PC, and they obviously want the game to be playable on as many machines as possible.  As a result, it's going to be able to play on most any reasonable system.

Of course Vista throws a wrench into things, but the vast majority of people playing this game are on XP.  Maybe you should ask mom for some ram for Christmas.

It only means that most people agree on something. For you the Wii controls aren't better than dual analog, for most people they are.

How hard is to get that ?

Thank you for your clearly unbiased opinion (No Sarcasm), it's nice to see someone actually make sense in a post, not just post mindless dribble.

@ Kirby007

"okay lair... you no bias?" I'm assuming you meant "liar" right? I hope so, I have no idea what Lair has to do with this. But I still don't understand your post. Please repost or at lease edit your grammar.
