Yeah well at least it looks like the wii is on the way to becoming a media hub

For what it's worth I do hope that Nintendo goes all out when they release their next console. Fingers crossed!!

My point has always been that the Wii's GPU doesn't run shader code because it doesn't have shader units in it's hardware, it does however have TEV stages which can run it's own code to achive shader like effects.

so saying that the wii can run shaders is wrong, however, saying that wii can run equivalent code to shaders would be correct.

Seems like a fair assesment so that is why like I said before I do hope that Nintendo gives its programmers more beefed up hardware the next time they release a console.

Neither the PS2 or gamecube supported shaders last generation but the xbox did, this time around the PS3 jumps onto the shader type GPU's while again Nintendo falls back iand continues to use TEV which is a cheaper technology, but it does have the draw back of making it slighly weaker than the original xbox's GPU.

Which is a shame because I would have loved to have seen SMG in at least 720p native res.

Alot of people would have loved that, especially those that have the wii connected up to a HDtv
