Forums - Nintendo - Orange Box for the Wii?

O-box would be a title appealing to core gamers, and wouldn't really make Valve a lot of money in any case. I think the Wii will be flooded with casualware, and that titles beyond the typical "nintendo" program will be very few indeed.
That's just a consequence you have to face if you buy it, and probably why many Wii owners also purchase another console (or Wii as their 2nd one).

Keep telling yourself that...

Huh? Ninty said themselves before launch that many gamers would also buy the Wii as a 2nd console, earning them more sales.

And you can't deny that the outlook so far is very similar to N64 and GC in terms of variety in games. Nintendo has such a long history that it seems almost impossible to make new IP's work on their platforms. Can you seriously see dev's such as Crytek or Valve eve taking a Nintendo machine seriously? I can't, but there are plenty of other dev's who will though. Please stop acting like the Wii will get all the games in the world; no platform does.

Wow, I didn't even read all of that post. No need. you said I was biased. Refer to my paragraph above. But I never said dual-analog was better than Wii-mote. I said that I personally didn't like it, because it picks up on very minute movements, for me, and I was used to analog. I didn't say analog was better though.

So you're effectively admitting that you are purposefully obtuse, huh?  I explained to you, in a great deal of depth, just why people would assume that Orange Box would be a worthwhile and profitable venture on the Wii.  If the only way that you can continue posting from ignorance is to ignore my post, by all means continue, I guess.

Orange box, Crysis, Bioshock, MGS4, GT5, KZ2, Halo 3

ALL ON THE WII IN '08

BELIEVE IT.

End of '07 Sales:

Wii: 280 million
PS3: 3,450
Xbox360: 6,897

Wii fit will sell 4x the entire Playstation family game library combined by the end of its sales run.

The Wii will outsell every gaming system ever made combined by a ratio of 40:1.

SUPPPERRRR SAYA-JINNUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!

Djmeister, you've time and time again tried to bring up points against this game being on the Wii yet have yet to make a solid argument. As someone else pointed out, you clearly have some sort or bias or predisposition as to why this doesn't appeal to you on the Wii as the game could be easily done on the Wii. It would be fun on the Wii. It would make money on the Wii. And it would do well on the Wii.

If Valve has an anti-Wii Bias, then I can understand why we wouldn't see it on the Wii, that's all that needs be said. I would have assumed that EA would have had some clout in curbing that but oh well, obviously not.

Any other argument made for why this shouldn't be on the Wii is just unfounded and quite clearly from what we've seen in the arguments presented, an attempt to discourage the Wii and it audience from expanding beyond its current niche as not to threaten the competition anymore than what it already is or the need to keep exclusives randomly scattered across all platforms in favor of some sort of asinine marxist ideal of equal distritubition of games in this train wreck of a generation.

The Wii is the big shot thus far of this generation, if you're tired of seeing threads about games that should be on it, then you maybe you need a break from the internet this generation, because they're not going to stop so long as their are titles that can greatly benefit from being a part of the Wii family.

Not to be overtly abrassive but is it some sort of cosmic law that people with Dragonball Z avatars have to emulate the maturity of the 13 year olds who typically watch the show? Can we not have a simple discussion on a relatively simple matter without it degenerating into such immature hostilities?

You're just saying that because your power level is under nine thousand.

First off, my name is "DMeisterJ". My solid argument is the looseness of your argument. So since your only argument was that this game should be on the Wii then my only argument is why it shouldn't. Is that you could buy a PS3, XBOX 360, or PC. That is my argument.

Well Valve loves the Wii, especially Gabe Newell. So surprising that it didn't come. HL2 wouldn't be that hard to port over. Just use the Xbox engine. Portal and the rest of them couldn't be that hard as well. Not to mention this shouldn't cost too much money to do either. Especially seeing if they market it right, they could make a killing off of it.

@ Zucas

Yeah, it is possible, no doubt. I was jus worried about the Wii's online and how Valve would handle it, considering the third-party Wii multiplayer games that are out there. I really only wanted to know why OP wanted it on the Wii and you can have it on the PC, PS3, or XBOX 360.
