Forums - Nintendo - Nyko Extended battery for the 3DS: gives you moar power but........

3DS battery seems like crap. I played a 3DS yesterday but 4 hours of battery life pretty much kills it for me.

Sounds like Nyko is a misoppotunity.

There's no reason why it should become incompatible with the cradle.

Maybe it's using a fast charger instead of the Nintendo super slow charge?

There IS a reason you won't be able to use the cradle anymore:

... The battery's big and bulky and you have to screw it on to the underside of the system, so it won't actually physically fit into the cradle anymore.

However, they have their own cradle it will fit into:

Nintendo Network ID: Cheebee   3DS Code: 2320 - 6113 - 9046

For $30 with a cradle to basically double your battery life? Sounds like a no-brainer for a $250 portable gaming machine.

Also.... sirloin burgers with appropriate seasoning, including red pepper, topped with pepper jack cheese, guacamole.

Dear Alfredo,

I hate you thoroughly.

Off to Taco Bell now,

Me.

Another review, seems like this thing is the real deal:

3D on, brightness maximum, wireless on:
Nyko Power Pak : 5:33
3DS battery: 2:52

3D off, brightness at minimum, Power-Saving on, wireless off:
Nyko Power Pak : 9:04*
3DS battery: 4:40

Wow.... That's much better. I'd assume that it would last 7 hours under moderate usage (screen brightness cranked up a bit more, etc.). Very nice. I'm waiting until Christmas to buy a 3DS, but it's good to know that there will be a working replacement battery.

Just hope that it doesn't void the warranty, not that Nintendo would ever know as long as the Nyko battery was taken off before sending the 3DS in for repairs.

Are you kidding me?

Looks like I'll hold back for 3DS for now.

I heard it was bad.... but really?
