Uncharted 3, Batman: Arkham City, Mass Effect 3, Zelda: Skyward Sword, Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Gears of War 3 (in no particular order here).

These are the only realistic contenders right now.

InFamous 2 will probably end up at place 8 at best this year. (which would be 6 spots better than GT5 last year)

@darthdevidem01  IMHO i dont think DKCR did anything groundbreaking or different to warrant it to be game of the year, its good so it al least should have been nominated. 

OT If Ninty does what it sets out to do and the 1:1 is perfect id say Zelda SS will take it, and this is coming from a die hard Uncharted fan

In 2009, Demon's Souls won Gamespot GOTY, to the despair of gamers everywhere. Dark Souls will take the crown in 2011.

I think it has great chances of being nominated and possibly winning in a few categories, but unlikely that it will win GOTY.

That does nothing to take away from what looks to be an amazing game!

Really does depend, IGN i would say will definitly give it to ME3. but then again i think ME3 will be pushed into Jan, because theres way too much competition for Fall 2011.

inFamous 2 will have to be staggeringly good, but it has a shot because its a high profile exclusive. Assassin's Creed 3 i dont think will be out til next year, and even if it wasnt, its not exclusive so i doubt it would get a unanimous GOTY.

i think The Last Guardian will be out this year and i think it will a lot of peoples GOTY, so its between, Uncharted, inFamous and TLG imo.

Skyward Sword is a Wii, so while it will be good, i doubt it would be enough to sate the apitite of hardcore reviewers like Gamespot, etc.

i suppose Gears might have a shot at it, but the only other game with a chance imo is Dark Souls, but since its not exclusive i dont think it will happen.

there are something like 200 sites that give out GOTY awards ... how could infamous 2 not grab at least one of those?

Uncharted 3 will be game of the year. I have more faith in Naughty Dog than any other developer in the world.
