I wouldn't advice it. Its the reason why I own 2 PS3 consoles now instead of one. First I bought a Japanese PS3, mostly for the Backward Compatibility, and thought, hey, PS3 games are region free on the console anyway. Its more like the other way around. PS3 is region free for the PS3 games, so all region games will automatically play on your console, but... it depends on what kind of lock the developer has put on the disc. So if you buy an American version of say Ratchet & Clank. You won't get the US version on your Japanese PS3, but... right, the Japanese version. And there's no way to change that, same thing happens with Uncharted. On the side note, there's always an English language option.
Not all games have different regions on one disc though, but to be sure you don't get an entirely different Ratchet, its best to buy an American or European PS3 instead.
Oh and I wouldn't advice Play Asia as you will need to pay a big deal of taxes. Check NeoAmusement instead.

They are rare, I think it is because the 20 Gb of data extra adds a substantial price on top of the 40 Gb system
80gb 2.5" sata hard drives are cheaper from uk distribution than 20gb 40gb 60gb, most dont stock 20gb or 40gb cause there out of date,

They are rare because the 60GB aren't made anymore.
It seems the mods need help with this forum. I have zero tolerance for trolling, platform criticism (Rule 4), and poster bad-mouthing (Rule 3.4) and you will be reported.

It's true thus far there are no region codes but there are regions for blu-ray however America and Japan are in the same region(hurrah!) the one bad thing is... developers could in theory create region blocking via software... so buyer beware. On the colors White is alright Black is Classic I was really hoping for Silver when I see it I'm gonna re-buy a PS3 |
Man, some of you guys must be made out of money...

Bah! Black is better. Go black, and you'll never go back!
Couldn't you just buy a white replacement case for the 60gig?
BC without the worries of region problems and the hassle of import and reselling.
