lol why would MS turn it down. Makes no se nse

I saw this LAST YEAR:

http://www.xblafans.com/indie-adventure-game-machinarium-refused-for-xbla-41.html

Update #2: Joystiq.com has received an official response from Amanita Design that states the Czech studio has now submitted Machinarium to Sony’s Playstation Network instead. As VideoGameBlog.net has stated regarding this issue, “The key is that neither game has been refused space on the platform — Microsoft has simply decided not to publish the games itself. Microsoft requires all XBLA titles be attached with a publishing partner, meaning neither Amanita Design and Golgoth Studio can self-publish the games on the XBLA platform. Sony and Nintendo do not have the same policy for the PlayStation Network and WiiWare, respectively.”

The second part of the bolded may be an issue (to be on XBLA and not Indie section there is a publishing partner needed), but WHY would anyone expect Microsoft to PUBLISH a title that appears on anything that isn't one of their own platforms.  The way this is phrased on here, which probably isn't surprising due to a site involving sales figures is a bastion for console partisans, is big bad Microsoft is a meaning who is CENSORING material.  This is not the case.  It is a case of Microsoft not wanting to publish anything that isn't exclusive to their platforms.

looks quite decent, i hope it comes in at reasonable price

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

^^^that looks good, oh well just another great game to add to my PS3 library if what everyone is saying is true

I guess I'll be playing it on the Wii then.  I didn't think this game was gonna cause so much controversy for MS...oh well it's gonna get mucho playtime on my Wii!!!

Why does Nsanity only ever post negative Playstation news?

My review

To all who say " I dont see why they said no"..

Read the thread! They wanted the game exclusive or nothing trying to strongarm the dev to make a deal for a game that has no business being exclusive.

The ironic part is that now the PS3 has the exclusivity... as far as hd consoles go.

̶3̶R̶D̶   2ND! Place has never been so sweet.

microsoft shouldnt publish something thats going to be on another platform i agree, but microsoft should update live policy, its quite archaic. if they updated live policy so people could puclish their own games then this would be a non issue.

dunno, Sony again gets left overs from our superior overlord Microsoft

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.
